Do you have a Casey's??
$5 or $25? Yes to both. Extras of neither, however.

Jeebus, the Deadwoods really are some of the best chips I've seen. Amazing collection sir. That Wild Bill Bar and Bella Union 25s are amazing. Calamity Jane and Last Chance 5s are awesome.
You have good taste! Obviously Nevada and California are where most of the best leaded THC Paulsons were found. But I'd put the golden age of leaded THC Paulsons from Deadwood, from Colorado, and from Mississippi up there as well, and probably the Caribbean too. Maybe Canada, but Canadian leaded THC chips are not easy to find.

Yeah, I mean, if any of these were out there in quantity I'd say they're mostly better than any of the chips we do have in quantity. Obviously subjective, but also true ;)

Why are all of the Deadwood chips soooo good? And why are there none of them in quantity anywhere? Does their gaming commission require destruction too?
Most of these places were open during the period 1990-1994 and that's it. A lot were open a year or so only. And Deadwood is in the middle of nowhere. When these places closed I'm sure they could have done whatever they wanted to with the chips, and they probably just chucked them. Miss Kitty $5 chips are cheap and plentiful, so despite only being open for a year, I'd guess that those chips hit the open market.

Is there a reason so many opened in such a short period of time in the middle of nowhere? So many of these would be top 50 sets if they were around in qty…

Some are randomly out there in “quantity”, must have been harvesters?

I think the chips are out there, but are waiting in someone's safe... I always have a thought in the back of my mind that someone out there is holding onto them. They'll come onto the market some day and that day will be INSANE.

1989 or so they legalized gambling in Deadwood. So a million places opened. By 1995 most of them had closed. Early 90s recession, combined with the fact they were in the middle of nowhere.

Found in mail today a few box with various items I bought in past days: chips, jetons, tokens and a plaque
All european material.... hope american PCFers can appreciate it

Only a Paulson chip, an old, nice THC 1$ from Czechoslovakia: it was issued by Casinos Czechoslovakia, the first casino operator in Czechoslovakia after the fall of socialism. It was short lived because in 1993 Czechoslovakia was split in Czech Republic and Slovachia (hence Czech Casinos was established).
1$.jpg

Paulson chips are quite rare in Europe: actually, I never have seen them in play in Europe in over a decade. Only other European Paulson chips I have are Costa Crociere chips ... I don't know if a "boat" chip can be actually defined "european"

Got these 60MM Dealer Buttons today from Mario at Aurora Poker Gear. The top four buttons go with Standard Chip set designs he sells on his Etsy shop. The Bottom 3 are both sides of a Chip design he had, but didn't have Dealer Button designs for. I liked the Chip theme and design and had him make me up Custom DBs for me.

Mario was also cool enough to send me these samples for free to see some of his other offerings. The one on the left is a Acrylic Dealer Button which is 4" about. It has a very good weight and feel to it and looks great in person (for some reason when scanned Acrylics become blurry maybe because of the glass), The one on the right is a 5" Coaster like with a cork board backing. It is very lightweight and neat little Dealer Button/Coaster.
