**The Official Unofficial CPS Thread** (3 Viewers)

We had our game last night with the CPS chips and they went over well. Everyone seemed to like them. Small concern about the 100 and 500s blue being very close but, I told them to just look for red edges and there were no issues.

Was the final game in our league satellite thing. $440 seat to live tourney and $215 for second. I came fourth when my AJo < KTo. I played well, and we agreed that person who plays the $440 takes 10% of any winnings back for a freeroll for us.

I really like these chips. Can't wait to get the cash set in play.

I received my 1600 chips today (well actually 1599, one stack was short one). FYI - No shipping notice delivered UPS. I don't have any racks, but the tournament 500,1000,5000 chips when stacked 25 high are definitely taller then the 100 and 25 chips. When stacked 10 high they are close enough. For the cash chips the stacks are all even. Only issue is the almond 1 and yellow 20 are too close. Luckily I also ordered green $25s, so I am all good.

I might have 50 - $20 yellow chips for sale, haven't decided yet.

***Update***
After further review, stacking them 50 high the tallest by far is the 500 the rest are close enough you have to look closely to determine which stack is taller. In order of tallest to shortest 500, 1000, 25, 5000, 100. At about 60 chips, the 500s are a full chip taller then the 100s.

Got my 1,500 and I have to say I'm shocked at how nice these feel. Really great chips...1,500 is way too much so I'll be selling 500 soon but I will still be able to host some great tourneys and maybe even a wsop satellite system.

i have all big chips (5k+) all fit great into the rack except for the 25ks. A stack is a really tight fit.

so much so that if the rounders on the scroll mold fit the chipco racks I might go with a standard aluminum case but the racks work well for now.

my breakdown is for a 100 chip T5,000,000 tourney...I'm pumped that I was able to find a breakdown for a rack a player single table action.

40 - 5ks
30 - 25ks
23 - 100ks
7 - 250ks

Fixed your post...... ;)
Nice pics though!

EDIT: Did you wash/wipe those down or oil them, or are they straight out of the plastic wrapper? The colors look very bright.

That's awesome!! I love huge starting stacks. Must be a long tourney but who cares.

My stack thickness comparisons mirror p5woody's. The 25, 100, 1000, 5000 and bountys fit the chipco racks. The 500 are about 1mm too thick for the barrel. I put them in a china rack and all is good. These were all from the second shipment.

Wife sent me the following pic, THEY'RE HERE!

And on top of that, we got our Solid Wood Emoji that we saw on Conan!

It was originally just a spoof, but people wanted these things so bad they teamed up with a company and were going to sell 500 of them. Well, those sold out super quick and they decided to make more, I think they sold close to 2,000 of these things at $100/ea (for charity). I wasn't baller enough to get the whole set, but figured my wife would love the cat one so picked it up.

haha, fair point. These chips are so cheap I'm almost thinking about keeping the extra 500 because...why not right?

chips are straight out of the wrapper.

The 5k chips are the nuts. Easily my favorite

Havent run it yet but it might be...

If I start the blinds at 10k-20k then it is 250 big blinds per player and has a smooth blind structure from 10k-20k to 15k-30k (below) so I think all should be good....

Might throw antes in it as well to try to recreate a final table like atmosphere

I ordered chipco trays and dealer buttons last week and what showed up was a duplicate order of my original 1st batch of CPS chips, another 1400 of 'em. Whose chips do I have? I knew chip trays and buttons couldn't weigh 30lbs. Returning them this week, but I want so badly to play a one drop tournament first.

It was not fun telling the wife that I did not order more chips. You can imagine her expression. She was not a believer.

When I told the UPS Store guy I'd be shipping it back (before knowing for sure what was in it), he strangely asked if it was something illegal. Hmmm, how to answer that.

Spent a little more time with the chips today. I think I am in love! Yes I inspected every chip, all 1599 of them :)
Overall I love the chips, they are great chips. These are great chips at a great price I have no regrets. Can't wait to put them in play.

If you want to be critical you can find a few flaws but no show stoppers.

1) The T500 chips are a little thicker then the rest, however I am not using racks and I don't normally stack them more then 10 high so they work just fine.
2) The labels on the reds are two different colors, only noticed under bright sunlight while inspecting. had to look really close
3) The Yellow $20 and Almond $1 might be hard to tell apart in low light but are obvious in the sun. I also ordered $25 green chips so I am good there.
4) A few of the labels were loose, I hand inspected every chip to ensure labels were secure. They should be good now.

Woody, did you notice the cash chips having dif thicknesses? If not, I wonder if this was due to the cash chips being done in the first batch? These look gorgeous! Pretty significant thickness differences with some of those tourney chips, but still gorgeous.

Cash chips were all good, really just the T500 are the only one I would consider out of spec from the chips I received. The highest I would ever stack at the table would be 25.

Got me a little 45lb shipping notice today. Woo Hoo!

Nice pics and summary, woody. You design and make those awesome stack-able case/racks/cover yourself? That is c.l.e.a.n......

Yes, I designed and built the stack-able wood case while I was waiting for these chips. Thanks, I need to improve my woodworking skills but the design works great and it does what I need it to do.

Interested in building for others? If so, I'm guessing you'd likely get quite a few orders from this group.....

Ball-park price?

Anyone have difficulty shuffling these chips? I'm thinking it's the cross-hatching and they need to be broken in?

Yes, they are more difficult to shuffle. It does get easier over the course of a tournament. I don't know if that's due to chips breaking in, or due to my adjusting my technique to the chips.

I brought (12) of the green $25 tourney chips to work today to break in. Only really able to do 8 of them at a time though, seems like the cross-hatching catches and makes it hard to push the stacks together when shuffling traditionally if I go to 10+

Got my final game up here in CT this Friday and going to put these babies into play, can't wait. Then I'll be moving to FL next month and probably frequenting the Seminole Hard Rock for awhile and not hosting for a bit. Just glad I get to put these babies into play at least once. :)

yes very hard to shuffle at first but gets better as you go. Also if you didn't clean them the colors start to pop more from hand oils around the time it gets easier to shuffle. I keep a new stack next to my desk each day and just mess around with them while working to break them in a little.

I've got 1200 chips. Started last night by taking a damp hand towel with some soap and going around the edges to help clean up the factory smell these come with, then dried them with the towel. Only got about 200 done. Going to do that, then apply oil.

My old man just called to tell me he ordered a cash set from Apache...I might be forced to buy a tourney set...can't let Pop pass me up can I?

I'm entering hour 9 of my chip watch...... Still no f'ing UPS........ :(
