I’m a sucker for blue dials, but I agree… brown. Blue looks like a tennis watch, brown is a bit more confident.
I'm not wild about the nato strap. I'd probably replace it with a brown one or this as an option if I did go with the blue dial:

The card mold of watches  :ROFLMAO:

Paulson
X
Tina

THC = Tina Hat & Cane

Actually the comparison is a bit unfair because Swatch owns Omega - but let’s not turn this discussion into a debate on the legitimacy of the new H&C card molds

Anyway - I love the look of the mission to Pluto and now thinking of adding Mission to Mars and/or to Mercury and/or the Moon. Will make a good bench for dailies as it has become almost dangerous to wear high value watches around London. The original Velcro straps are horrendous though.

I mean more accurate- Paulson X Bud Jones plastic mold Paulsons since they're both under GPI.

OTOH it's kinda funny to imagine GPI acquiring Tina.

The Delugs elastic loop looks like a good strap choice. IMO the perfect amount of casual for the Moonswatch.

(Not my pic)

What is the pokerchipforum.com of watches? I came here having never heard of rhc or thc, spot progression, etc., and am in the same place with watches but looking to learn.

I love a lot of what I’ve seen here, but am starting from scratch. I’m know it’s a child’s toy compared to everything, but the only piece I enjoyed wearing until I snapped the band was this Zelos, some random guy or company in Singapore. Ready to read more and learn.

I was looking for fellow Zelos enjoyers and stumbled upon your comment.

Any other Zelos fans here?

Btw the watch scene's equivalent of PCF is watchuseek.

Anyone of ya'll own a Tudor Kermit? It's one of the pieces I've been eyeing for a few years, but the limited to pickup in London is a frustrating limitation. Had a chance at one about 8 months ago as they had an allocation open up, but my family in England was ironically visiting Canada.

It's on the back burner now with poker chips and a wedding obliterating my finances (unemployment also doesn't help) but one day I'd like to pull the trigger. Maybe justify a trip to Europe in the process?

Looks great! If you save up, they might release a smaller size. Could be cool depending on which sizes you prefer

Just stole an internet photo. Admittedly, not the best photo being as it's a little disproportionate on that wrist.

I thought about a regular Black Bay, but felt I'd always feel like I settled for a black one instead of the green. This was a while back when I went to try a few on. Ended up with my Hamilton Intramatic Chrono instead.

It's definitely the perspective. Watches always look huge and overhanging from that angle close up. Just welcoming the trend of Tudor and other brands releasing <40mm versions.

Colorway is important. The green looks much better than the black. Follow your dreams ;)

The black can be kinda boring/dour, and I like a colorful watch, but that is not a color green I'd want on my watch.

I'm enjoying the trend back towards smaller watches, means I can pick up some more me sized watches at a reasonable price.

Anyone have thoughts on the Hamilton Field Watch Automatic?

My Apple series 3 watch cracked and finally died. Looking to get my first automatic watch that’s somewhat within my $500 budget. Any advice or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

It may use mass-produced internals for the movement (they used to use ETA internals, not sure if still the case) but they’re reliable enough and, for $500, I’d say it represents pretty good value.

One suggestion I’d make re: the strap. Consider the situations you’ll be using the watch for and what you’ll be wearing with it, especially if this will be your only watch. You may not find the brown leather strap to be as versatile as a metal band for example. If you can swap straps though, it’s less of a concern.

Thanks! I know very little about internal movements but it has a H-10. I’ve been debating about the strap as well. I might start with the leather and then upgrade to metal as needed. The pricing is weird. It’s $675 on Hamilton’s website, but I’ve seen it on Amazon for $489. Is the Amazon a fake?

H-10 I believe is a modified ETA movement. Cheaper because they swapped in some plastic components but overall should be pretty solid for the price point.

Amazon should be okay. Just make sure the seller seems reliable and inspect everything when it arrives. Hamilton's are overall really solid watches. I love mine.

One note, don't wear the watch in water. I've heard some people expecting them to be water proof with their 50-100m rating, but a lot of them leak and ruin the movements. 50-100m resistance is pretty misleading, but I personally wouldn't swim with anything under 200m. Rain or splashes are fine, just avoid swimming and you should be good to go.

it's a really solid watch. Good value for money.

I'd stick with leather, fabric or a nato strap for a hamilton field watch, but just personal preference.

Shouldn't be an issue with getting it off amazon but check it out and make sure nothing seems off. if it's ref: h69529933 the listing on amazon, the seller is jomashop https://www.jomashop.com/hamilton-h...chanical-black-dial-mens-watch-h69529933.html where it's 40 bucks cheaper than that. jomashop is fine per a lot of watch folks for someting like this, but I wouldn't be buying a 10k watch off of them.

Dealers have told me 1/3 the list price is typically commission so it’s very normal to find 10-20% discounts for online 3rd party purchases. Jomashop and Authentic Watches come to mind. Both have been around for a long time.

Wow thanks all! This is the listing from Amazon from Jomashop. This will definitely be within budget now! Thanks all.

that's a lot of watches in 4 years...

the dial on the seiko is insane, I really want the mojito but it's too small for my wrist
You aint lying. This does not include the wife's as well lol. Please, someone, can I just have some money? Lol. The STO Seiko was my first mechanical watch, and one I still have. I'm debating what's up next for me, I've grown tired of ceramic bezels and faces, I need some warmth, some life to the next one.
