Oh son, them subs is gone. Too many glances in the wrong places, the market went haywire in the best ways, and even after ya drop... Well a lot... In certain places, they stop selling to ya because you didn't want to buy an overpriced crap shoot like a yachmaster 2. I got all the way out of the Rolex game, but if you really are after one I've got a guy that can get ya a hookup
Warmth? bronze with a nice patina? I've got it on a rubber strap while I wait for a custom length leather strap to come in.

The light as a feather part bothers me, that's why I had to let the NTTD go, but I did end up putting the steel version of the mesh on my Green 300. Also, and I know this is watch blasphemy, I don't go in for chronos....
My preference would be a traditional date function, the moonphase cause it is a moonwatch, and no chrono. I used to think they were cool but never ever used the chrono. Moonphase is pretty silly to me and this is the only time I'd have one.
Between those two, it’s the Air King hands down for me. Gave that model pretty strong consideration a few years back, but ended up falling in love with the Milgauss.
Love my P39, it’s been on my wrist almost 24/7 since I got it a month ago.

I do agree that they're slightly overrated now, but they're still pretty damn cool. They at least edge out Subs and Speedies.

Not for years, but even from any objective point of view, the sub is aesthetically far more pleasing than that knock off Invicta GS pushes... It's got a power meter!
I think luxury watch collectors start with Subs...its traditional and classic...then they move on to the other high end watches. After they get what they think is their grail, they always come back to the Sub.

For me, a sub wasn’t even in consideration until after the 10th (and last) watch I purchased. It would be my next if I ever seriously thought about watches again, mostly as a tool watch that I could wear and not worry about beating up, all my others are vintage or sharp dress watches and I’m a bit more protective of them.
I've actually been thinking about an OP41, w/ green dial. I don't own a rolex, I REALLY don't like the cyclops/whatever thing they do on dates so I wouldn't get any watch from them with a date function, and 40/41mm is about as small as I'd go. So either a steel OP41 or an Explorer 40, but I kinda dig the green dial.
What's stoping me? No rolex purchase history and buying it at basically anything other than retail($6,400) really doesn't make sense. They move secondary as 11-13k. For 11-13k I'm buying a very different watch, JLC or IWC.
