Things That Are Bullsh*t (10 Viewers)

Can't post this without explaining 'how'!
That would be BS too.
Ooooooh Im sorry. Were you weedwhacking, burning it, what happened? One hell of a plant, Ive had my legs covered before.
Cutting up a fallen tree that had a 4 inch vine entwined in it. I used gloves, and removed the vine prior to sawing, but beings that I'm allergic it didn't matter. I have it on my toes (had shoes and socks on) in between my fingers, both arms, both legs, stomach, back... and it laughed at the cortisone injection I got on Monday

Shi8iite. Crazy. Oil from vine must have hung around after was removed, or something. Hazmat suit next time.

That's my guess. Oil residue on the wood from the vine, and the wood chips from the chain saw carried it to my skin.
Gonna suck when it's time to split that wood later in the season

I was going to reassure by saying the oil will degrade and should be fine. But Google says stays potent for five years. Crazy.

Poison Ivy in general is bullshit. We have wetlands behind my house that we had the massive vines removed from a few years ago, but now it's all coming back to life.

The land behind my house is going to glow in the dark soon when I have them kill it all with the extra-strength stuff

It is bullshit that it took me until 2024 to find curb your enthusiasm.

This is….quite possibly the best thing I’ve seen in years. Out of this world hilarious on so many levels.

This shit is only getting better. Wtf was this guy on thinking he could get away with putting some of this stuff on tv  :ROFLMAO:

I forgot how funny Wanda Sykes was back in the day. This shit remains straight gold.

Eh. The real bs is that your post here is the only saved history of the price for these chips.

The whole fucking forum in cahoots to make transparent buying/selling impossible. We want politicians to be better but can’t even sensically run a niche collectors group.

(Not a shot at the classifieds poster, it’s common practice, no clue why)

I wouldn’t say “cahoots.”
I’ll mostly agree with you though - it’s hard enough to know what chips are worth; there’s no reason to make it harder by removing a price after the chips are sold.

But I’m kinda shocked that I was the only one who took issue with that “uncirculated” thing. We all bemoan the lack of consistency in words to grade chip condition - “excellent” could mean five different things to five different chippers. But uncirculated? That word actually has concrete meaning. And if those chips were sold to that seller as uncirculated, we should be trying correct the BS from the previous seller too.

Was the price taken off?

The uncirculated thing is a def wrong to use for those dunes chips but it’s an easy mistake.

The problem is those chips (dunes) have always been advertised either circulated or uncirculated. Directly from Spinettis. And it’s mostly been an error but it was the easiest way to differentiate chips that they were either the casino used vs chips they saved from the vault.

And the $25s have always had the the most wear from the “uncirculated” sets but still are reasonably in the best shape the $25s come in.

If you’re a dunes collector, you know the issue. If you’re looking to add this rack to a mint uncirculated non dunes house mold set you may be a bit disappointed. If ur adding to ur dunes uncirculated set then it’s perfect.

I probably am a culprit too w a faulty $25 sales ad somewhere on pcf specific to this set.

Yeah that’s a perfect summary of the issue. And shame on Spinettis - I know it’s just their shorthand for distinguishing between “really used” and “pretty pretty good” but how is a new guy supposed to know that?
On the other hand, I have little sympathy for a new guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing, yet is eager to send so much money to an internet stranger. If you can’t tell from that picture that those chips aren’t uncirculated, that a big problem.
On the other hand, one of the only reasons any of us are eager to send money to internet strangers is that this community exists, as a measure of security. And that’s why I’m speaking up, as a measure of security and education. Maybe next time some new guy will do a search on dunes uncirculated and he’ll learn that chips are being sold as uncirculated that wouldn’t even qualify as near mint to most of us.

I mean you don’t see me go on my eff this eff that benders anymore these days, so it’s obvious I don’t care that much, but if it’s not cahoots then how about suspended belief or willful ignorance?

Not everything has to be members “calling out” members. But we should be able to follow through on driving consistency. Lack/fear of conflict is a top indicator of dysfunction.

For example - what about the chippers who have been here long before me and are great people - but all they do is post singles lots every single day/week? I finally asked my locals why is this guy constantly posting and what's going on with those listings? Does he just have a giant drawer that he takes a random 100 singles out a week? There answer was that it’s all pickups of groups of chips online, garage sales, etc.

How are these “chippers” not vendors? Idk, neither do who I asked. We just mark it up to, they’re well like or well known and that’s that.

I mean it takes effort for people to hide pricing, and it’s actively done a ton.

If I post anything on money or time, I have to deal with people telling me I didn’t log on or ship out chips quickly enough twice 5 years ago. Yet, from when I started as a chipper to now, I frequently wait 2 weeks to 4 months for chips, and I frequently wait on 4 figure payments.

Since I don’t buy/sell much of anything these days, I’m down to just waiting for the one guy to send me $1300ish. Which again, if it was specific people, they’d be crucified.

But hey, cahoots, no cahoots, who the hell needs consistency on a forum transacting millions of dollars a year. We’re not a marketplace anyway, we’re just a small forum of friends!

Breville Smart Oven Pro and its customer service can FRO.
If anyone says "The _________ customer service was fantastic", it causes actual astonishment. The simple fact that someone is doing their job well comes as a surprise is a testament to something - though I don't know exactly what.
  • The breakdown in the concept of an honest day's work = honest day's pay?
  • A feeling of hopelessness because the execs will never pay you much more than the rate of inflation, no matter how hard you work?
  • The youthful "gimmie, gimmie, gimmie" mindest?
  • The customer service center is 7,800 miles away, where shitty service is still better than what they are accustomed to?
  • Something I haven't considered?
No matter which, the decline in service is absolute BS

Fucking nits, huh? What’s a little 2-3 months hiatus among good friends internet strangers who pre-send money expecting goods in return?

Yet, from when I started as a chipper to now, I frequently wait 2 weeks to 4 months for chips, and I frequently wait on 4 figure payments.
I wouldn’t stand for that and I don’t think you or anyone else should have to either.

I agree 100%. That’s why when I run into great customer service I always like to give them as much credit and exposure as I do when bitching about really poor customer service.

I have had excellent customer service from Comcast exactly once. Unrelated to previous op
But it literally blew me away and I asked to speak to his supervisor to make sure I told them he went above and beyond my expectations that day. Really blown away by that

On another note, it's absolute BS that every time I use my HSA card Sandy Spring locks the card "for my security" and I have to call in and go through the whole process to get it activated again (literally every week) those customer service people suck dirty butt hole

I had a broken screen on my cellphone. Went to a UFixIt store and the young man working there impressed me very much in our 10 minute encounter. So much so that I gave him my name and number and told him to call me if he was interested in switching from fixing phones to servicing medical equipment.

A month later he reached out, he's now a field service engineer for my company. I knew in our interaction that he'd be a great fit and he's exceptional with our customers.
