Upcoming molds......... (27 Viewers)

Hey, all. I have my first CPC order in now for a CSQ set. I’m sure I’m missing something and am tricking myself into being too excited too early, but if FDL “should start in 2 months or less”, does that mean that the CSQ run would be finished by then? Meaning that all CSQ orders (like mine! ) could be shipped out in April?!?

Edit: Just read @Felt_Lizard’s post that FDL and/or Scrown might be up before CSQ. Last I had talked to David, I thought he said that plain and CSQ were up after jockey and that the CSQ run would be starting around April-ish. Sounds like I may have outdated info and maybe CSQ is behind FDL …
CSQ ran before FDL last year but no idea if that has changed for this year.

@Himewad you absolutely nailed that ordering process! Timed it perfectly, 4 months for a non A-mold order must be the best ever? I know my inlays were made in November, I guess the clay is made now too...can't be much longer! April is "next month" now!

Ahem, ordered my FDLs on 1/18 and got them on 4/25 last year. Complete dumb noob luck on my part though…

Yep, very lucky that things fell together for me, because it was all by chance. I happened to have labels designed, I just need to tweak the colors to match the CPC palette instead of Paulson. I happened to get a nudge from a fellow PCFer at the right time. And I happened to contact David two weeks prior to the cutoff for the mold I wanted. It was the perfect storm. And I'm still impatiently waiting. :cool

I hear you! I got my order in right at the cut off at the end of December and my artwork a few weeks after that and I’m already checking this thread daily. lol.

@Himewad and @JP1984, you guys are just fueling my (probably premature) excitement! I placed my CSQ order in late December (just before the price increase), made a small add on and tweak to quantities on 2/6, and sent in my inlay artwork on 2/15. I haven’t seen any “proofs” yet, but what I sent to David included a screen shot from the chip designer with inlays and everything included. Should I be expecting some sort of “proof” at some point? What would that look like? (Sorry for the noob questions!)

Either way, when I placed the original order, David estimated a late-April start date for the CSQ run, and a June or later delivery for my chips in particular (there are apparently 26,000 other CSQ chips in line before me). I’m sure I’m at the very end of the CSQ run, given my late artwork delivery. Which is why news of a possible FDL run in April was so interesting to me. Presumably, that means either (a) that the CSQ run has been pushed back from the estimated date as of December with the April FDL run happening before CSQ, or (b) the CSQ run will begin earlier than expected such that a subsequent FDL run can still start in April?

Forgive all the useless speculation and impatience; I know that others have waited a year or so for orders before, and here I am obsessively reading tea leaves just weeks after I sent in final inlay artwork …

Typically you would still receive a proof in advance of printing/chip making.

Yeah, I would follow up with David right away to make sure you didn't get missed. I'm concerned that your artwork wasn't submitted until two weeks ago. I hope you didn't get dropped from the queue because of that.

Yeah, definitely touch base with David. I submitted my artwork fairly late (first couple days of Feb actually) and received my proofs already.

FWIW, I asked for a rougher estimate on the CSQ production schedule at that time. David said “roughly 3 months” which would put start of the run at the end of April/beginning of May.

David says that this CSQ run is huge and will be going for “months,” so no need to rush me my proofs right away. Good news: I am still on this run. Bad news: I think I unnecessarily annoyed David. Oh well. I guess you live and you learn as a newbie. I’m not yet built for this kind of excitement and patience!

The bad News are clearly that there is a huge amount of CSQ chips in front of me

You know you've got too many chips when you don't even remember collecting them from the PO! (Hope they've not gone missing...)

Haha. Thought those are the other things you shipped. Still haven’t got to them!
The other things were shipped a month before that.

Excellent job as usual.

Yeah, I’m in that boat too. David mentioned that the CSQ run would run 2-3 months when I first inquired. #worththewait
Back in early January I was told the CSQ run will start at the end of March but will last maybe 4 months. Molds only produce a few hundred chips per day and there are 12 orders ahead of me. I'll be counting down once I start seeing them pop up around here.

I just asked about a Large Crown order and he said it's not even on the radar, currently ZERO large crown orders in the queue...... looks like I need to switch molds.
I literally emailed him about this yesterday and this was the answer.

It’s an add on for me for an existing set, so a slight bonus is I get to save my money for longer.
