Upcoming molds......... (11 Viewers)

Can you post a side barrel view of the $5s? Looking at xDS18s and would love to see another example.
They aren't oiled yet and my lights in the dungeon are very orange.

They look pretty sweet... can't wait to see them oiled!!

Any warping on these chips or do they stack like bricks?

Perfect, thanks! I’m looking at a 3DS18 and wanted to get a sense. Not as many spots, but it has a nice effect. Thanks again, really helpful.
I’ve always found it interesting that the 1/8” is an L4 and the 1/6” is an L2. I’m assuming that the smaller size has a higher chance of split spots?

My memory is shot, but I believe David said they were individually hand done?

That L2-L4 is the conundrum. Is it worth the extra cost for smaller spots? And is the difference really noticeable? I’ve enjoyed the debate around here and haven’t made up my mind yet.

This is DG Tiger, right?
It is. After oiling they are quite bright. As far as stacking goes, I haven't really handled them much. I have two boys on three hockey teams. All of which are in their playoffs and one of which I coach. So, regrettably I'm too busy to play with my new toys. :-(

David has indicated that the single (and double split) 1/8" spots are more expensive because they need to be punched by hand, one at a time, so it's more labor intensive (I think the 3/16" spots have a more automated process).

Something to note as well as many overlook this, but the 1/8" spots are not quite as deep (ie how far they go from the edge towards the center of the chip) as the 3/16" spots. I prefer the look of the DS 3/16" spots, IMHO they look better on the face of the chip and are almost indistinguishable compared to 1/8" spots in stacks. The only time I've gotten a chip with all double split 1/8" spots is 6DS18, where there wasn't a 3/16" option :)

My 2¢ worth.

Agree with this. On a project coming out soon, I mix 3/16 inch spots with variations of 1/8 inch spots. I elected to go with 4DS16 on a chip rather than 4DS18 because the face of the chip looks so much nicer and bolder with the 1/6 inch spot. The 1/8 inch spots made the face of the chip look lacking to me in comparison to the 1/6 inch. In terms of stack view, it doesn't make the chip spots look significantly thicker. The 1/6 inch spots went just fine with the 1/8 inch spots later on in the lineup.

Uuh, sounds very busy :-/

I had to chose between dg Peach and DG Tiger and in the end I chose DG peach. I really love DG Tiger, but I wasnt sure if this color would pop "too much" beside DG green, charcoal and blurple. In the end I chose DG Tiger as a spot color, so I can cry a bit when it will turn out to be the wrong decission after realizinf that it would have been the better choice :-D

Unpopular opinion time....

DG Peach is a much better base color than DG Tiger is. DG Tiger is best for edge spots.

Count me in for this discussion in about 3 month... :-D My order should be shipped in mid june....

I think it largely just depends on the inserts and the base color of the surrounding denoms. A consistent color palette goes a longer way than what looks better in a vacuum.
I think DG Peach is more malleable in terms of being able to accommodate more edge spot colors and patterns. I've tried to put in complicated edge spot patterns with lots of different color combos for a DG Tiger base chip, and I find that only a few combinations work well. Any darker edge spot colors tend to make the base color look more washed out. DG Peach can still pop better with lots more color combinations on the edge spot colors.

Just my two pennies.

Exactly that was the driving force behind my thoughts before placing my order...

Hard to go wrong with DG Peach. I went back and forth between DG Tiger and DG Arc Yellow for one of the chips in my upcoming set. In the end, I went with Arc Yellow, but I think DG Tiger can look fantastic as a base (@Sprouty's "Miles Club" $1 & "Willie's Treasure Trove" $500 as well as @pipdenny's "Van Card Room" 5000 come to mind).

In the end, it's the entirety of a lineup that ultimately dictates which colours fit best.

Agreed. I have 1/6 in my sets.

+1 for DG peach

Took an hour to oil the $1's....my least favorite of the lot...or so I thought. After oiling them I'm loving them! E&C is such an underrated mold. Thanks to the creator of the Lucky Buddha's, whoever you are. Your chips convinced me.
Exactly the same - my sample set of Lucky Buddha's convinced me that E&C was the way to go. I'm replacing the hundo and was going to go with grey but your charcoal looks amazing...

Does anyone know if the A mold is coming up soon, or what mold are they currently on?
