I'm a CS beta 5 player lol. I was a hardcore TFC player until CS came out. Made it all the way to CAL P. Even played at the CPL event a few times. I miss the good ol days of hanging out on IRC and picking up scrims. I even had my own CS server for awhile hahaha. I agree with you though, CS:GO is not the same. I didn't care for all the skins and stuff, which is ironic because all I play mostly now is warzone when I get a chance. That game drives me crazy but I still find myself going back to it. I actually like Apex legends as well. But every now and then I go into a cs 1.6 or Source server to see if I still have it lol.
Give Valorant a try. The gun play feels much more like 1.6 and the utility is nice because you don't have to do trigonometry homework to line up smokes and pop flashes.

I've watched some Valorant streams and it does give me an old CS vibe. My brother has been trying to get me to play it, along with a bunch of my old CS friends. So, I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

I got into PC gaming pretty much purely because of CS. I think it was around 1.3. Haven't really been able to get into CSGO, and I tried Valorent but I couldn't latch onto it either. Dunno why really, I guess I just don't care for the gameflow as much as something like Overwatch (class based, objective based, no elimination) or BR games (one and done games).

I'm early in HL:Alyx and don't want to spoil anything, but I will say that the first time you encounter enemies in the game, it is pants-crappingly scary.
I haven't played Alyx but I already know you're talking about Head Crabs. I hated those things in HL2. The poison ones in Ravenholm (the ones that hiss) were a big NOPE for me. I can't imagine them in VR.

This is on my list of games I want to play but won't buy until I finish some of my backlog.
Re: CP2077, you should take your time with this one. It's unpolished even to this day. I'd say give it a year or two and wait for the CDPR to give it the Witcher 3 treatment. I picked up Witcher 3 waaaaay late in the game (last year) and glad I held off. It was super cheap AND had a great deal of polish already applied.

I'm also in the waiting game for CP2077. Looking forward to that one some day!

I haven't played either of the RDR games...thinking about RDR2 but I'm wondering if playing the original is necessary?

From what I understand you don't need to have played the 1st one to enjoy the second one. I heard it does reference some things from the first game but knowledge of them isn't required.

I'm the same boat as you - never played the first one but have my eyes on the second one.

i have 4000 hours on csgo :D

Still playing DayZ on private servers with mods. It's gotten a lot better. v1.12 was just released this past week.

Do you play DayZ?
no never played, few of my friends played when it first came out.

games i've played the most:

I ran a FiveM server for a while. I've been playing DayZ since it was a mod for Arma2. Standalone was terrible when it came out and for many years since but it got much better after v1.xx

I don't play as much as I use to but a few of my long-time friends have started playing again so we set up our own server last year. Usually on Discord too.

No need to wait on CP2077... its pretty amazing already and bugs are not that bad.

I dont play a ton but I've certainly put my time in playing Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Witcher 3, RDR2... CP2077 is just as good if not better.

I quit after SA released. ARMA 2 is still my 2nd most played game of all time on steam. Some of my best gaming memories stem from DayZ mod and shenanigans with the group I played with.

Half the reason I'm waiting is for the price to go down / GOTY edition and also for a new card. I'm sure my 1070 would run it okay, but I'd prefer to get the full experience with one of the 3000 series cards when they are no longer unobtanium (and I have the budget).

This is a funny list to look at, I haven't played Dota2, Arma 2, or PUBG seriously at all in the last 2 years or so.

I'm sure Skyrim should be somewhere up higher on this list...I'm wondering if Steam didn't track hours when I was playing that...or maybe I didn't have it through Steam at the time. I'm sure I have at least 200 hours into that game.

Those DOS2 174 hours are on a single playthrough too :wow:

Thinking I left the computer AFK a few times lol.

You don't need to have played RDR to follow RDR2. That said, RDR is a great game if you get the chance to play it.

I don't think RDR is available on PC. I could pick it up on my XB1 I guess, but I hate aiming with a controller.

Yeah, it's console only. I switch between XB1 and PC, so I aim equally badly with a mouse or a controller.

Can't play it anymore...it's one of those games that you have to maintain skill in and awareness of meta and balance changes to keep up on. I have thought of getting back into it, the learning curve is steep but it's a very rewarding game.

I finally started RE7. I have silly aspirations of trying to finish it and get to RE8 once it goes on sale. 2 young kids make playing anything that requires me to remember what's going on between sessions very difficult.

Also picked up Observation in the cheap today on steam. Cool atmospheric and story driven game

RE7 was decent, but I am enjoying RE8 way more so far. it's much less pure horror (i.e. jump scares), and much more action.

Playing the wither 3. It’s great. So many hours sunk in already lol.
Oh you have no idea. If you’re a completionist like me, you’re going to be in this world a while. And that’s a good thing. Make sure you also play the DLCs. It’s definitely worth it.
