You have to watch out for Bruce Wayne’s loyal worshipers!!!

To those I say...

This was fun. That whole bit about not running ads on Facebook because they didn’t know what it was yet and wanted it to remain cool? This is what happens when you run ads and it’s no longer cool.

Horseshoez was funny pushing it. This other dude...well there’s trying to hard and then there’s whatever this cringe is (I mean shit, what’s the record for comments without a reaction? Someone please throw Danny a bone).

Best of luck fellas, see ya in another thread!

You can’t leave us. I refuse.

I often feel compelled to read through these threads, just to have some context for future reference. I don’t recall seeing a shit show like this, other than political discussions, since the boat chip fallout. Go us.

Sadly I read through this entire thread as well. I always thought "no dibs" rule referred to people calling Dibs for other people. Not sure I know of any other community marketplace where a Dibs or BIN is not an agreement to purchase under the sellers terms. If its okay for the Seller to hold out for better offers, I suppose its just as acceptable for the Buyer to withhold payment and come back with a lower offer once they've had a chance to collude on pricing with other potential buyers. The community is only as good as its members.

Focus. This thread was never about dibs. All about the memes and GIFS.

The truth is that I’m not proud in the least that I started this thread and it’s not something I would typically do. Hopefully it will encourage members to be more mindful of their actions in the future.
If I have to explain it any further, some probably wouldn’t understand anyways.

I mostly agree with the sentiment of this post, though it seems over the past couple of years the "dibs" get thrown around a little too freely. If sellers need to adhere to a "dibs" system, then for sure the "dibs" better mean something. I've seen enough occurrences of a member throwing down "dibs", only to come back a while later and release them after reading the actual ad.

It has to go both ways for the system to work. Calling "dibs" and then releasing them isn't really much different than cancelling an auction that has bids on it, but only one of those is a ban-able offence.

I threw up a little every time I typed "dibs"
