Seriously, this “community” bs has come and gone, and those left holding onto it are too often taken for a ride or put in awkward positions. I feel like I work at McDonald’s making special orders all day.

Wow and I thought someone asking for a discount a week after claiming them in the thread was a wild move !
 
@David O's "There is no dibs system" post should be plastered into every classified listing. You guys keep talking about some "rule" that doesn't even exist. There is no 'dibs' rule. Nor should there be one. The expectation of such a system is what has everyone up in arms. It's fine as a tool for expressing your interest, but there is nothing binding about it at all.
 
I have a question.... (legit) is the dibs thing applied to every sales thread? I've see some that specifically state "Claim dibs in thread then PM" and I've seen threads that simply list their items with a price. I've also seen the several bumped post by Tommy that sales prices are none of anyone's business and there should be no commenting on such.

I looked at @tootsmagoots ad and he never mentioned a thing about Dibs.... Isn't the simple answer that if you want to operate under the Dibs method simply state it in your ad?

I also noted as I've seen in many ads here that larger orders or buy all's will be honored first. Which he did minutes after posting even though he never mentioned dibs or splits at all. Reading the Ad one would assume he's selling everything and realized that he didn't address splits but was his intention to sell it all without 20 shipping boxes and corrected himself almost immediately.

I also see that so many think he got a sky high offer and screwed the lower offers but he states he sold for asking price only all to 1 buyer shipped and a local who was either picking up or whatever.

And if there was a "Dibs" rule it would be posted by Tommy I assume as he makes the rules.

I'm sure you can find a post somewhere from @Tommy saying the same thing. @David O is a moderator. Surely Tommy has communicated the classifieds section rules to all of the mods. The current policy is that there is no 'dibs' system and a seller can sell to whomever he/she wants for whatever amount they want.

I’m sad I missed the CD days. At least we have the other other site now. Once that one gets flowing. Or once the other other other one (non xenforo) gets setup.

Now that people can’t buy chips here publicly and folks are going quiet, just historicals and pictures keeping some folks. No difficulty regarding market penetration other than # of users, and once you start uploading membership, it’ll only get easier.
 
Yeah at this point, we all just need to agree to disagree and deal with the repercussions as they happen. It still seems so damn simple to me so I’ll go back to viewing mail pr0n and HOPING for some better content somewhere.

If I was hating on you you'd know it but there's a large and wonderful world outside of chipping and "hating" anyone over something as stupid as that isn't worth it. Was simply commenting on a similar experience as the ones Jeff listed in jest.

I have used "PM coming". Mostly because it is quite fast to type and it is meant to show interest and most people want a reply in the thread before a PM comes in. It only means that I probably have a lot more to type, so I will save it for the PM. It certainly does not mean anything nefarious.

No more PCF court. From now on all tiffs are brought to @Josh Kifer and I as ringside commentators, and we will determine winners.
