What video games are you playing? (25 Viewers)

In terms of reveals, I'm most interested in Split Fiction, Ninja Garden Ragebound, and Slay the Spire 2.

I've never managed to get too far into any of the Witcher games. Not for lack of trying. I don't have much faith in Naughty Dog after what they did with Last of Us 2. And moreover, I've grown really tried of "interactive movie" type games. I am kinda interested in the new Indiana Jones game. And from what I've seen, there is more game to it than what Naughty Dog offers.

Honestly, I just want some Switch 2 and Metroid Prime 4 info.

Long story short, I love video games, but haven't had the impetus or chance to play newer ones much in recent years. I'm going to be intentional about making time and planning so that when free time does come up, I'm not overwhelmed by the decision and do something else (what do you play, what platform do you buy it for, what version, etc.).

My last couple of forays were so disappointing, like buying Diablo for console and having it be such a huge letdown compared to Diablo II on PC. So here's my starting point for what's planned:

PS:
Spiderman. Kid got it for me for xmas last year, I've yet to try it.

Xbox:
I reallly want to grab the new CoD, but I believe that FPS should only ever be played with controllers. Cross platform play and having to play online against folks using keyboard and mouse is such a turnoff, I'll have to think if I want to sink time into this.
Hogwarts Legacy - played for a bit, prob level 15-20, don't know if I loved it but worth revisiting.
Skyrim - played many years ago, but don't think I ever came even close to end game. I think worth to restart.

Switch:
Legend of Zelda - played the first release to end game, bought 2nd because I knew I'd need to play it one day, but never got time or into it. Will probably pick up where left off and not restart, don't think there's a ton of replayability in the first couple hours.

PC:
Just bought Divinity Original Sin, Stellaris, Titanfall this morning. A ton more to look at, but thought it would be a good start.

Plan on grabbing Cyberpunk, Red Dead Redemption, Baldurs Gate, and Witcher but I have no clue what platform to buy each on. Also grabbing Hades but waiting until it comes out on Switch, just because I played the first one on switch.

So that's where I'm at for now. Thinking of just searching for all the game of year awards and finalists from the last 10 years and picking some additionally out of that. Let me know if there are must plays I need to grab, or if you have suggestions on specific games on console vs pc vs whatever, grabbing a SteamDeck, or other general recommendations for a huge gamer that's been out of the loop for many years.

Just get Balatro.

I've been playing Magicraft. A bonkers action roguelite about packing wands with spell combos that hopefully break the game. 30 hours in and I haven't quite unlocked everything. Though I'm at the point where it's gotten a little repetitive. But I'm still playing a game or two of it a week.

It is done. Balatro has been conquered after 244 hours of playtime.
