What video games are you playing? (18 Viewers)

A crew I'm in does oddball let's plays. I'm not in this series but I helped re-edit them when we switched channels and re-released them.

Basically it's Mega Man, but if you get hit or kill something you have to put your controller down until it's your turn again.

Oh, just to continue the thread, I'm now poking around on GTAV Online and Dishonored 2. I, too, am the one in the group who needs to loot everything, search everything, read every line in the lore, etc before I move on to another area. My brother is the complete opposite so it's a riot when we group in games.

I cannot believe the amount of content R* has thrown into GTAOnline. The latest DLC with Dr Dre is so much fun. It boggles my mind that I picked this game up on sale for $25. It is by the far the most I've ever gotten out of a single game. Dishonored 2 is a gem of a game. It hits all the right notes for the type of playstyle I naturally gravitate towards (see above) and the game just over-delivers. I thought I really liked Dishonored 1 but 2 is quickly topping that. Arkane definitely has this genre locked down.

Speaking of Arkane, I'm keeping an eye on Weird West. Looks very interesting.

Oh wow - I haven't seen LodeRunner in such a looooong time. I grew up with a Commodore 128 (always set to 64 mode - go figure) and I played a much inferior version called 'Jumpman'. Takes me waaaaay back.

Had the TSR 80 from Radioshack, Commodore 64/128 and even an Amiga!

Best memories were playing SSI games like War of the Lance, Pool of Radiance, Champions of Krynn, etc

Okay, if we're going there...

Here's a Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer 2 (CoCo2) emulator that has many of the games I played as a kid, including Dungeons of Daggorath, Bedlam, an unforgiving Lode Runner clone (Gold Runner), and pretty much everything else of significance that came out for that system.

Back then I was more of a Dragonlance fan, played the trilogy but there was a bug in the ladt game near the end that prevented you from being able to finish it :(
Don't feel bad. I don't think I beat this straight up, either. I remember running a 'trainer' on top of this game to give my character some 'bonuses' to make the gameplay a bit less grindy. I did the same with Bard's Tale, if I remember correctly. The game I did play straight up was Legacy Of The Ancients.

So pumped for Darkest Dungeon 2. Instant Day 1 purchase.

Who's your favourite class @Anthony Martino ? For me, no contest:

So I'm playing DD again and I'm finding a new favorite class, the Man at Arms. His Retribution skill is just so fucking good. And I'm leaning towards the Houndmaster as #2 since he can sick the dog on all four opponents and inflict bleeding (obviously less useful if you're in the Ruins and facing more unholy/undead creatures)

Finally spent a couple hours on Slay the Spire this weekend thanks to @Legend5555's recommendation.

I'm still getting my feet under me on strategy, but I've played four runs, made it to act 3 once, and so far it's been a lot of fun.

it is a truly awesome game, probably has already made my top 10 all time, despite my relatively short time with it. i was big into magic: the gathering WAY back in the day (1994-95ish) and StS is the first thing i have played since then that has struck a similar chord in me (except maybe hold'em tournaments, but those are for a different reason). it has a very addictive gameplay loop.

Just remember to count. it’s amazing how much of the Slay the Spire comes down to that.

Man At Arms is basically a requirement for the second leg of the Darkest Dungeon itself. If you get his trinket that buffs him when he's in slot 4, oh baby.

Houndmaster is so flipping versatile. His Blackjack has a really high stun percentage, he can spread the bleeds around, self-heal, stress heal, he's very easy to slot in.

I've always had a soft spot for Graverobbers. They can be doing 50+ damage criticals by the end of the game which can go a long way in the Champion level dungeons. (Fuck you Bone Bearer!!!)

Hell yeah, grew up on a Commodore 64. Load "*",8,1

Lol, I think that's right. Used to love Leaderboard Golf, Summer and Winter Games, Beachhead, Wizard, Skate or Die, Supercycle, Chopper, Larry Bird vs Doctor J. Boulder Dash I & II we're so fun.

HELL YES!!!

I loved all those games. I remember breaking a joystick (or two) on Summer/Winter Games and Skate or Die. A funny note - I remember watching the olympics with my older cousins growing up and I was casually explaining how all the events were scored. They all looked at me like I was insane. I didn't think much of it at that time. I mean - DIDN'T EVERYONE PLAY THE GAME? ;)

My brother and I loved 4th and Inches, all the street sports games, Cave Man Ugh-Lympics, International Karate, Ghostbusters... the list goes on and on...

To this day I find myself humming the soundtracks to my favorite games. Rob Hubbard is a genius.

Oh yes, Ghostbusters! Spent so much time playing that game.

I really miss my Commodore. My sister borrowed it and all our games from when we were kids. We all went to a Sabres game 15 years ago one night in Buffalo, came back to our cars, hers was in the middle of mine and my buddy's parked on the side of the road. Only problem was, hers was gone, and so was the Commodore and everything else in the trunk. Never recovered. Childhood lost. Sadness ensued
