What's the Most Money You Ever LOST in a Single Night? (6 Viewers)

Wow some of you are degens!
I’m sure I’m a high denom chip degen where I lose the most money chasing to see them... Lost $1k in 3 min chasing $5k chip, making $300 bets on BJ. If there was no $5k chip, I wouldn’t have done that.

For poker, no I know I’m not the best player, biggest loss is $400 on 1/3 losing feeling too confident about 2 pairs, then someone else has full house or flush.

Let’s explore variance.

I’ve lost $3650 on a single drunken bluff at Foxwoods 2/5. Threw up in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on the way home. Drove straight to an underground game where I was stuck $3500 before working it back to down less than $500.

Won $4K+ multiple hands at 5/10. Lost $2800 at Mohegan Sun at 2/5. Went back the next day and won $4500 at the same game in 90 minutes on my birthday.

I’ve won $3K+ at 5 or 6 different meetups over the course of the event. Punted $5100 at one of the Derby City Showdowns and flew home a day early. All $1/1.

Binked $6250 at a home game playing 25/50c that later evolved into an insane 1/1 melee. Punted back $2650 to the same player at an underground game ($1/2 NLHE 1K cap) a month later with AA vs Q4dd (I mangled the hand really really badly, not a bad beat or AIPF).

I’ve lost $2K or won $2K at 15-20 nights at home games at 25/50c.

Dumped $3500 at BBOTB5 and bought into the 1/1 circus game with $2400 and ran it up to $5500 to almost break even for the weekend (got to +$100 with flips).

I just dusted $2100 last week in a 20/40 mixed game at WSOP against a table full of mixed game pros. Went to a soft 1/3 table and got $900 of it back in 2 hours.

Dumped $2400 at a 1/2 PLO game at Boston Billiards in 2019. Won $1500 the next weekend playing 1/2 PLO at Foxwoods.

Won $1200 at 1/2 NLHE at Hard Rock Tampa in February 2022 during a 90 minute session waiting for my nephew to show up for drinks and dinner. Went to K9’s the following day, double fisted 8% IPAs and 20% ALC margaritas. Punted (and I mean Ray Guy coffin corner booming hangtime fair catch punted) $2100 but was so drunk I thought I left up $700.

Won $2K at DiD1 and again at Oh-Hi-Lo1 at $1/1. Lost $1250 at DiD2 at the same game.

Lost 6 consecutive $200 flips at BBOTB4 against TreeRollins. Won $900 twice in separate Crazy Pineapple flips at Casino Arizona (for a seat into a tourney that I sold).

Somehow I’m up slightly over the last 10 years. I’m up $4K this year at Talking Stick but down $3800 at Gila River, same games, largely same players.

It’s all one long session. With more turns than a cornfield maze.

This month? I've had a -$2500 day and a -$1700 day at 1/3. Still up on the month so far. Had a -$10000 day online back in the middle of the boom, maybe 2008ish? That's the day I learned bankroll management.

+$2100, $1/$1 NLHE/PLO8 home game, with bomb pot dice having a not small amount to do with it.....

-$1000, $.50/$1 NLHE/PLO8 on PokerGo with mostly the same home game group. Drunk jackass playing.

I have blocked the really bad losses out of my mind, but I have definitely had this look before.

$400. That's all I take to play cash games. 1/3 NL. I buy in for $200 and I allow one rebuy. That night I lost the two buy ins. One with AK vs AQ vs AA. And then the other one with QQ vs AK. Both all in preflop

my worst night was $450 playing 1/3, my best night was $380. I’m still learning and don’t have a high risk appetite!

I lost a lot to a point I won’t harvest chips for a while, rather I’ll ask others to do it for me. That’s to help reduce my losing on tables. Losing like $10k in the last 2 years, maybe making $10k in slots fortunately so breaking even. If not I’ll be screwed up

For a single session home game, IIRC -$560 for me, playing $1/2 mix of NLHE, PLO8, & other circus. Probably would have lost more but that's all I had in my wallet that night (and I didn't want to go the IOU route, BTDT)... haha

Last weekend I was in the game for $700. This is all day poker at .25/.50 cent blinds. I ended up recovering most of it back in the last hour or so. It was a long day

Reading the posts on this page reminds me of a casino trip I made a year ago last March. Sat down to play $2/$2, $5 open PLO. The player to my immediate right is a young kid, early 20's with long curly hair. He dropped $3500 in three hours and seemed nonplussed, staring intently into his cell phone the entire time.

I casually asked him if he played here often. He said yes. How do you do? I asked. I have won $12,000 in a single day. I threw him a look to see if was genuine, but he didn't catch it. He was still staring down at his cell phone. I decided to let it slide as it was unimportant.

About 20 seconds later he chimes in I have also lost $20,000 in a single day. :ROFLMAO:

The most I ever lost in a day is $1,500 from the wonderful game of blackjack. I bet $750, doubled my 11 against dealer’s face up 8. I got a 6 for 17 and dealer flipped up a ten for 18.

-480 in my 50c/50c game, in for 700.

casino pit games? probably like 3.5k lol

I'm more embarrassed about the temper I've lost than the money. Weird how sometimes you have the capacity to be zen about big losses and sometimes you can't even handle small ones. For me, it seems to be affected more by life stuff happening off the felt than by the randomness of card distribution.

Recently, I even rage quit an online game because I lost a couple flip situations. Not even bad beats but just didn't have the energy to keep perspective.

$62,403.60

Tuesday night at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh.

Playing blackjack with my colleague. Watched him miss the progressive jackpot for not playing the sucker bet. He's dealt the :7c::7c: and splits in a dealer :5s:. First card out of the shoe is the :7c:. "Dealer says holy shit" under his breath. My buddy's says "What?" Table points out that if he'd played the $5 progressive bet, he'd be $62k richer. We laugh it off, he's shook.

5 hands later.......

I get dealt :7h::7h:. I gasp. I also am not playing the progressive bet. I signal to the dealer to split, and say "Do it to me Ernesto". He obliged. :7h:

So the most I've lost in one night was $62,403.60. (I won the hand doe)

Would you have hit the jackpot even though you split?
