What's the Most Money You Ever LOST in a Single Night? (3 Viewers)

DOUBLE STRONG PLAY I LOVE IT!
This college kid came and sat down and ran like absolute fire. Was playing terrible (hitting 14 on a 6, catching 7, etc) would not raise his bet, bet the flat $10 each hand. Cashes out ahead a bit. When he leaves, the pit comes over and says to the dealer "what a dumb ass" I agreed. He compt me a drink.

Home Game .50 / $1 in for $350 out for $0. That was two bullets. Card dead for most of the night. I'm talking 8 players and at one point I folded every hand either pre flop or on the flop for at least 45 minutes or more. These guys are pretty good and really lucky. Finally got some playable hands, and bluffed a few. Two hands did me in. First was set over set. second was AA vs KK. I had AA, flop A K 3. Turn blank. River K. That was last winter. Haven't plaid much since. But unfortunately. I think I am going to start rounding again as a supplemental income. Casinos and other. So If that is any indication of how I will do you will be able to find me on a corner with a shopping cart arguing with a tree.

I think if you’re losing to set over set and 1 outer on the river there’s nothing wrong with your play. @quintooo has lost thousands of BBs with 8 high- J high if he’s lucky.

Not live so maybe it doesnt count, but lost 600 once playing heads up. Thankfully I had won 700 the day before playing the same guy.

Exact same thing happened again on a separate occasion with a different guy

$3K. I was relatively new to poker. Went to an underground "home game" in Manhattan. They had 1/3 and 2/5 and I didn't know any better re: the massive rake. Showed up to play 1/3 and they only had one table of 2/5 going, with super deep stacks and all kinds of crazy straddles going, bomb pots, standup game, etc. Dusted three $1K buyins relatively quickly. No real coolers or anything, I just played very poorly and passively being way over my head. Lesson learned.

Huh. Could have sworn I already posted this here but I guess not. Last November in Vegas for F1 I dusted I dunno 18-20k in one sitting playing 10/20/40/80/200-300 against an F1 whale with a literal satchel of flags and cranberries. Don’t play games of chance against people luckier than you in life.

Trip started off great. +6k night 1.

Button is the F1 whale who blind bets 200-300 every hand. Tips dealer huge. Actually a fun guy. Overall a fun wild table to play at.

Example typical hand at this table: F1 whale raises utg to like 400. Italian pro 3 bets to 1600. I fold the button. SB Vegas pro flats 1.6K. F1 whale 4 bets all in to 4.5k ish. Italian pro 5 bets to 35k. His 77 holds against QJo. @doublebooyah85 was at the table next to me.

So yeah cash just hasn’t played the same for me ever since.

Donked off another 4.5k last June in the first 2 hours before regaining my senses and running positive the rest of the 5 day trip.

I’ve only played cash at a casino twice. First time, bought in for $500 and got up to about $700 and then lost it all in a hand where I had AK and board was AK3 and villain had pocket 3’s… Second time at a casino I bought in for $500 and left with $1,200 so made it back. Since then I realized I don’t like playing for real money and just stick with small friendly stakes and mainly tournaments.

A little over $1k in my regular 1/3 game. I track my sessions and I'm up a lot there which helped give me perspective. Without that it would have been a tough pill to swallow.

I had a 2,000 BB loss in a .25/.50 game. That was unfortunate but within expected variance of the game and the way it plays. No regrets on that one.

I shot took the bellagio 5/10 last summer and dusted off about $2k in half an hour. Really Leroy Jenkins’d that session.

But my biggest loss is the $10k at WSOP main event in 2021. I almost made the dinner break of day 1. Almost.

Biggest loss with 100% of my action is 12k at 10/25 PLO. That session was great, no regrets, I thought I brought my A game, was just really unlucky in a few spots.

Biggest loss ever is around 29k at 25/50 NLHE with me having around 40% of my action. That one still stings, I regret offering action and haven't done it since.

$325 in two hours playing Pai Gow, trying to harvest quarters at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana. Managed to snag all 37 available chips, but wonder if it was really worth it...

Okay yeah it was.

Lost 4k on one hand of "in between the sheets". A-2-2 Can still hear the screams hahahaha

First night of a Vegas trip, and I'm all fired up to play some 1/2 & 1/3.

Lost $600 in a couple hours. Lost 2 all-ins preflop with AA for ~ $400 of it.

Left wondering what I was going to do for the next couple of days.

I’m reading this thread and all things considered, given how much $ folks are spending on chips, I thought these losses would be way bloodier.

Dollar amount? $400.

Biggest loss in big blinds was 600 BB's on a bad night of microstakes circus with my local guys. Fired three $20 bullets playing nickel/dime and walked away with nothing.

Was Derailment to blame?
Nope. It was many unfavorable run outs. Basically felt like I couldn't win a hand unless they all folded.

Flopped nuts that get runner runnered, flopped wraps and combo draws for the possible high stright, nut low and nut flush in Big O that totally miss. Flushes get drawn out on by two pair for boats, scarney big pots where I lose all my cards when we're playing the Islandic version (I had $600 in that pot when I lost my two last cards and it was heads up against a guy with 5 cards with the discard row showing a lot of low cards). That last hand was the nail for the night, I just refused to play another hand after that.
