Oh that is bloody brilliant.

It's not YOUR fault she's bald, YOU didn't make her bald. Last I checked this was still America and we have Freedom of Speech? Oh you and Jackie are going to make a LOT of money!

Then Chris Rock winds up settling with the Smiths to appear as an extra in their film for $50 plus access to craft services.

Its just unreal there are people out here that cannot understand this stuff I have a basically retarded friend that use to to 3rd grade math in 12th grade and understands it perfectly

If this is what anchors you to your reality, then you're way further gone than I had already thought.

You're saying that you've talked to hundreds of educated adults, all of them think you're crazy, but your one "retarded" friend who has a 3rd grade level education thinks you're right...

How do y’all rate Rock’s post slap response?

B- for me. Quite composed for the circumstances, and the “great TV” comment worked. But if ever there was a time to roast a celebrity at a dumb awards show that’s it right? Blown setup. We drew the short straw getting this timeline

If you didn't think that was sexy (a key component of sexy being the word sex) then you must have linked to a different video.

...or maybe it was me. Let me check that link again - for research purposes. :sneaky:
Do I think it was sexy? Yes. I like boobs. Especially those boobs.
But I don’t agree with your “a key component of sexy being the word sex” implication. Do you know how often people here describe chips as sexy?
Do you think that has anything to do with sex?
Popping a ping pong ball into cleavage is goofy, and maybe of questionable taste, but I don’t think there are any sexual implications there that need to be age restricted.

According to YouTubes policy, material that may be age restricted includes...
A video where the subject is in a pose that is intended to sexually arouse the viewer

If the focus of the video was just the ball, it would have been fine. But the real focus was the cleavage. Sexy, provocative, cleavage.

YouTubes policy is stupidly conservative, but if they don't tell me how to live, I won't tell them how to live. In this case, I had to click a button to say I was over 18. It's not like they banned it outright.

Also... I thought everybody thought sexy and sex were synonymous. I better go wash my chips.

Really sorry to see Will Smith behave this way. It surprised me, and I think less of him now.

The responses to his actions, both from association and from various defenders, sadly does not surprise me though. The long list of people who have ruined my ability to enjoy their art grows a little longer today.

BTW, I don't think that most women want the men in their life to “defend” them this way.

Tangent. I find it interesting when people refer to Smith's actions, or similar actions, as "defending" someone. It was not defense. The "offense" (to any extent that it could be called an offense) had already occurred and was over. There was no danger to protect anyone from. The action was retribution. And when you realize that, it changes the color of the situation significantly and makes it really hard to justify it as some kind of noble act.

I’ll agree with this, but I’d just add that you can draw a parallel to a heat of passion manslaughter situation. The difference between getting 10-20, or life without parole.
Will smith wasn’t defending anybody, but it wasn’t a 1st degree assault either - it was a more of a slap in the 3rd degree.

"Defending" her honor or something, because chivalry is not dead or something. I believe that honor is worth defending, but it should have come from Ms. Pinkett Smith herself. I thought that we were supposed to be tearing down the patriarchy or something? I get so confused.

Though, I think that bringing back duels would be cool. I'm a fan.

Yeah nearly everything about this display was pure toxic masculinity.

"GET MY WIFE'S NAME OUT YOUR MOTHERFUCKIN' MOUTH!" Didn't mention Jada, didn't let Jada defend herself in any way.

As long as it’s politicians I can get behind this. I think Lincoln was involved in a sword fight duel once, which is kinda cool. Obviously Hamilton/burr being the most famous incident.

Sadly most “honor killings” these days involve youths shooting each other in places like Baltimore and Chicago. Id rather have less of that.

I stopped holding the door for most strangers a few years ago, after multiple women in Seattle told me that they "didn't need a man's help." :( My response was always, "I hope that you have a better day." Then I usually got cursed at. To me, it's not about the patriarchy, or seeing women as weak. I honestly believe that women are better than men, and deserve more respect. :)

My exceptions are older folks, disabled (wheel chair, walker, etc.), or someone with their hands full...and all men.

Ok, ok... this is not actually true. I do hold the door for everyone, and still take the occasional verbal beatdown from some man-hating women. It is what it is.

But the part about women being better than men: I do believe that.
