Steak knives (6 Viewers)

I actually use some calphalon steak knives which are much cheaper. If you are going for Japanese steak knives you will find that they are very expensive. Sushi Knife sets can cost well over one thousand dollars.

I'm a fan of Calphalon for the value. No complaints about any of their kitchenware in a decade of marriage.

I use my Wusthof cook's knife mostly, though. Love love love it.

LOL @ we can have steak knives thread but no politics.
We have 50 people with access to the politics forum and over the last two full months we've had six new threads. Five of them received a combined total of eight replies and the other got 30 over a one day span before everyone lost interest.

Apparently no one gives a shit, why keep randomly bringing it up?

It's like a poker room - surprised you don't understand this. You get more players (posts and threads) when the room is near the foot traffic on the casino (not in a forum that is well hidden and requires separate registration).

Sorry that you're not the arbiter of my post content. When that position opens up, you'll be the fir--actually, just skip it.

Cutco is overpriced. I have a bunch. But I'm 15 years removed from buying it, and they will still sharpen it for me for free if I send it in, and if things break they will replace them. That customer service is pretty good.

My wife just bought a set of these and won't tell me how much she spent. I guess it's fair since I would never tell her how much I spend on chips :)

Have a nice day.

Always amazed at how little-known some of these are, especially Lamson. I have several Lamsons, including a pearl-handled deep-belly 8" chef's that I love. Very high quality...

I too have several Lamsons... both forged and stamped... I have a small Lamson stamped steel paring knife that is absolutely scary sharp. How sharp?
Sharp enough to shave Chuck Norris.

JA Henckles here. Good, but not over the top. It's a steak knife. I don't use it for cutting raw meat, and most of the time I can probably cut my steaks with a butter knife.

If you need anything sharper (or serrated) you are cooking your food wrong.

I was trying to think of what we have and that's it, it has the little tiki (kinda) looking guy on it. We got them as a wedding gift a few years ago but I think they are pretty damn good for the money, they aren't cheap but they aren't extravagant. They are as "nice" as I will ever need/want.
