72 Hours of Bagpipes - Wellness Check? (3 Viewers)

@NotRealNameNoSir this likely wont make you feel much better but here goes....
Last summer the house 2 driveways down was completely abandoned for several months...Super weird too because it was normally inhabited one day and the next completely empty and a moving truck hauled away everything. Turns out one of the men living there had a warrant for arrest, assault I believe. I suppose they were running from arrest by leaving?
Anywho, good riddance as this place was always a mess, unkept, junky, and a million cars in and out like a frat house.

Well over the winter just before the holidays, they randomly showed back up. Dormant house one day, fully loaded the next. Very odd.
Point of my story, the frat house style living they encourage is a problem. At any given time there's 4-6 different vehicles in the drive way. One of which is an old piece of shit white car that has no tags, I assume because they spent all their money on the exhaust system... like clock work 7 pm every night they start that car and revv it up. I don't mean like once or twice, I mean like red line it over and over for a half hour.
They also ride illegal dirt bikes up and down the road here without helmets, practicing wheelies, from 8-9pm. I'm waiting for the day I have to call and have their brain splatter cleaned off the road. There's a short straight away and 2 blind curves.
The list goes on of weird and annoying behavior from that house

I have a neighbor a couple of miles away whose property has 17+ vehicles parked around and in back of his house (that I can see; there likely are more in the woods behind, down a coupe dirt tracks visible from the road).

Also two boats and at least one shipping container, various ATVs etc.

There is always a motley assortment of residents going in and out, only two of which seem to be permanent, and usually several of them smoking in the yard.

I’ve only see a couple of the cars and one of the boats ever move, so the others seem to be junk.

The zoning code of my town prohibits this kind of mass vehicle storage (let alone effectively creating a dump/junkyard). But I’m not the guy to call the building inspector on them. I also assume he sees the property and either doesn’t care to enforce the law or is buddies with the owner.

They don’t make any trouble, it’s just an eyesore I pass at least twice a day, maybe more.

Comiseration is always appreciated! Thats a pattern, the dangerous riding would drive me nuts. Oh well, I dont wish harm on anyone BUT if they end up getting hurt I hope they dont hit some person or animal when they do.

Yeah at first I just thought she'd turned it on and had a stroke or something, but apparently it just helps him sleep, whatever that means.

Do you believe the sleeper really exists? Has anyone ever seen him?
People saw him come and go very regularly months ago before I posted this, hed be gone for a week or so then come back. They'd fight and yell but no one ever saw any violence. When asked about him she smiles and says he's good, wont go into details and we dont know her well enough to press.

So succinctly: he existed at one time, not sure in what state as of now.

This is the best story on PCF…

I need answers.

My theory is he has some form of advanced dementia and the music soothes or distracts him in some way. The repetition may not be bothersome to him at all if he is in such a state. And for her repetitious music might be preferable to him being in an agitated state.

This all may be an act of love and compassion on her part. Or at least a benign coping mechanism. Of course I do not have to live next to it so easy for me to say that.

I like it, benevolent! Much better than him dead.

Sounds great!

Did you move to Alabama?

I had a suitemate in college that played "Cumbersome" by Seven Mary Three over and over again for weeks on end after his girlfriend broke up with him Sophomore year. I can only assume this is probably the same kind of thing.

Based on my experience, there is no need to worry - they'll move onto the entirety of "Jagged Little Pill" in due time.
