Barrington poker table thread (12 Viewers)

walmart barrington is 179
walmart barrington led is 199
costco barrington led is 229

looking for a second table, which is the one to get? leaning towards the cheapest one and using money saved to upgrade the cupholders. are the LED's a much added benefit to game play? feel like i'd tilt myself looking directly into the light.. or is the weight of the table better?
Oddly - the Walmart led jumped up to 299 while the non led is still at 179

Thanks. I did notice that walmart sells a premium version and the description says it has deeper cup holders. I wonder how much better quality for the premium.
These tables are great and I like them, but I would not expect anything premium from Walmart or CostCo. I haven't found cupholders that I liked on these, my players prefer big ol rocks glasses that only fit in jumbo.

Okay just recently picked up the Costco setup. In the process of getting a topper so made some measurements if anyone is curious and wanted closeups of the thickness of the topper that comes with the table.

I have 74 1/4" x 32 1/4" from LED to LED and the topper that comes with it is 74" x 32".

This is my first poker table and I've never sat down in a casino poker room or card house yet, but color me impressed for $230. I suspect it would last a few years for monthly games and close to a good year for weekly games before the railing starts to tear up.
did you order 74x32 for your custom topper how'd it fit? did you do any upgrades to the costco one? cupholders? led dimmer?

So I finished my Barrington mods (for now) but still need to order a topper.

New LEDs, Dimmer, AA Battery Pack, and Jumbo Cupholders

COB LEDs

I wasn't the biggest fan of the blue LEDs and didn't like how they were so spaced out. I saw someone talk about the COB LEDs and how they are amost diffused already and ordered the warm white and couldn't be happier. The LEDs are very close together so you don't need to put something in front of them to diffuse them like I was trying to do with the old LEDs. Instead of ripping out the old LEDs, I actually just wedged the new LEDs right on top of the current ones. It worked out great.

I did have to cut the light strip and attach another tail end. Very easy to do but measure accurately before you cut! You don't have much leeway with the 16.4ft strip. And then used the Y connector that also came with the COB connector package.

Screwed and glued on some velcro, glued velcro to the battery pack, then buttoned up everything else. Happy with it.

Jumbo Cupholders
I went with the jumbos after reading recommendations. Pried off the old ones with a vise grip, drilled a center hole down with a standard bit, then drilled from the bottom up with the 3 5/8in hole saw starting it the pre drilled hole. I got them all done but it was a bit of a struggle with the hole saw I bought. If I would do it again, I would get one that was deeper. This one barely made it through both pieces of wood.

Nicely done! I just picked up the Costco LED version and would like to add the COB lights on top, as you did. How did you manage to get the new LEDs to fish through the top of the table and down through the hole in the bottom? It’s pretty snug in there with the existing leds. Any tips would be appreciated.

Now that it’s been done for a while, anything you would have done differently?

Are the costco lights too bright?

In my opinion, and others on here, yes. I’d also prefer a continuous led rather than a little bead of light every inch or two.

i hadn't seen a verdict on the costco one was curious if it was pretty bright. i had seen it mentioned on the walmart led barrington. would a dimmer help with the costco one or is COB the way

I’m sure a dimmer would help and could be a good starting place, as it could be used even if eventually moving to COB. I’m assuming the Costco LEDs are the same as the Walmart tables.

Yea looks pretty bad. I was hoping I could buy a smaller, deeper cup holder to place/glue into the existing ones, but from the looks of it, if I did that, regular sized cans wouldn’t fit.
are there holders out there the same width lip to lip of the factory ones but as deep as the jumbos?

Been Reading a lot of LED Barrington thread from few days now . Going to purchase two next week.
My question is for the people who are using the AA battery pack .
How long does the batteries last if you continuously leave it ON using 8AA.
i only host twice a year and if the batteries could last like 6-7 hours i don't want to spend the money on the powerbank.

And anyone who knows more about voltages/wattages.. i have 20000mah samsung power bank with 45W P.D. can that work if i buy the DC to USB-C adapter as one of the posters in the thread did.

https://www.samsung.com/ca/business/mobile-accessories/battery-pack-20ah-beige-eb-p4520xuegca/
in the output section of this it says Output Voltage: 3.3-20 V but i guess its auto, depending on the device.

Earlier in this thread:
Mine was at 7 hours and still going strong last session..now if I can just remember which pack I used, I'll be able to give you a number when those finally die.
I bought a two-pack of AA battery packs but I haven’t used them yet. I planned on filling both up to have ready, but if you can get 7+ hours from one, that would be awesome.

I have the same questions, plus wondering where you ordered the custom topper - was it from the guy here in the forums, or do you have another source?

Anybody know a good spot to get custom felts made for this table?

This table would be great if it came with wheels lol! It’s so heavy to move around!

I use these to move tables around the garage. I just set them near each foot and lift it onto them one end at a time and they easily roll to where I need them

Does anyone have pictures of a dimmer installed with the original LED lights? Table coming this week and want to get a jump on improvements

Cheers
