Best deck of plastics (2 Viewers)

¥2,695 per set up. ¥6,900 for shipping 30 decks.

Works out to ¥87,750 or $877.50 which is $29.25.
30 decks or 30 set ups?

Is that including shipping to North America? At $30 per set up plus re-shipping, I'm definitely in for two jumbo index set ups. I don't think we'd have any trouble selling 30 set ups total if we made this a small group buy...

I’m in for 2. If nobody else can find an easier solution, then I can ask a friend who lives in Japan to reship from Amazon Japan. You can’t order to a US address from amazon in another country btw, so there needs to be a reshipper.

My default address is Canada in Amazon so it looks like that was the price to my Canadian address.

If I bring it into Canada there will be duties/tax on this.

It may be cheaper to have US and European dropshippers in that case. I know @surfik Is really keen on getting some of these. Maybe we do two orders, one for North America and the other for Europe?

@GianThaMan , if you have a friend that will be able to re-ship that would be awesome. You are right; I don't think any of us here in the US, Canada or elsewhere will be able to place an order from Amazon Japan. One group of cards goes to the US and the other to Poland from your friend? I feel like we need to open up a group PM to discuss.

I’m at the check out screen for 30 decks with shipping to Canada and the place order screen is ready to go.

I think it will work

Do it. I don't mind paying shipping from Canada to get my hands on some of these.

Should we do a group buy post and see how many people want in?
I'd make sure the order goes through and maybe would even wait until you have the cards in hand until putting it in the GB subforum. This still feels almost too good to be true to me...

They also have Angel 100% plastic single decks on the site for much cheaper (¥660).

Anyone know the difference between the 2 types?

If I had to render a guess, the 660-880yen single decks are PVC, while the 1000+yen are Acetate.

They make both.

According to Angel's website, "Club Poker" (gold box set) are PVC, while "Angel Poker" (black box set) are Acetate.

It looks like the set on Amazon Japan is bridge size, I tried finding a poker size set, but struck out.

Vice versa...generally considered superior material but there are many factors inclouded
Acetate cards have been considered to be more durable and have better feel than PVC ...but some PVC cards are great as well

And now for something completly different...I have just visited www.kem.com, can someone tell me what is "european index"? Is it 4 pips index? They lost me.....

Is PVC better than Acetate or vice versa?
Comparing PVC and Acetate is an apples vs. oranges comparison. They are radically different. People who tend to like PVC (myself) don't necessarily like PVC but hate Acetate. People who like Acetate don't necessarily like Acetate but hate PVC.

This is getting complicated...

My purely personal and purely anecdotal 2 cents -

Acetate Main Pro - Better Texture all around
Acetate Main Con - Flakes and warps when exposed to moisture or heat

PVC Main Pro - More durable than Acetate
PVC Main Con - Ink tends to streak, doesn't feel as papery as acetate

That ok but remember that technology of production for different cards vary a lot. Using from one to four layers of material.
