Not Mine Buyer beware: Paulson Vineyards (1 Viewer)

No, he's "villified" for having 0 self/social awareness trying to take advantage of someone who has no idea what their chips are worth, then being upset that the person doesn't want to sell them for next to nothing and ends up returning his money. Then he posts it here "warning" everyone how terrible the seller is creating further competion driving the prices up even more making it a bidding war.

You’ve accused several people of having 0 self/social awareness but it’s you who haven’t been able to make any friends here.

you accuse us of being naive but better than being a cynic such as yourself. Life doesn’t need to be fill with so much angst. Chill broski.

And if you want those cherokees I have I promise a ridiculous deal as an olive branch

Ah yes, someone won't let themselves get ripped off on a pokerchip sale, so not only is he as asshole, I'M the asshole for pointing it out. A+ work!

Look you missed something here (and please don't waste server space responding to this because I am not watching, I am just trying to help a newer guy here). The OP got a negotiated price (still safe for seller to back out), agreed to the transaction (still safe for seller to back out), and then sent the money (now it isn't safe anymore). Once the money got sent, the sales contract was executed. By saying "it's online garbage" or stuff like that would be the death nail to global commerce at this point. More and more and more business is held online everyday. Just because it was online doesn't negate what happened here.

Yes, people backing out of facebook market, craigslist and kijiji deals is the death of global commerce, and not something that happens every minute of every day. You aren't dealing with professionals, you are dealing with the equivalent of an online garage sale. It's very serious stuff, you should certainly dox people over it.

So......@dmoney We're almost 7 pages deep here.

Feeling better yet about the near miss?

Hey, at least SOMEONE from PCF is getting them now that he gave the guy all this free advertising. The guy is going to get market price for his collection!

Take a look at the guys facebook, and people commenting about "how their glad it all worked out/he got his life together". Guys a loser and a fuckup whos finally getting it together a bit and you sent him money. What if he is a tweaker?

So, just to be clear. Because I think you saw the word "rehab" on his FB and assumed it was for drugs, and he was getting his life back together. It was actually rehab for his back from a motorcycle accident. He was once ranked #13 in Indiana for college golf, and competed nationally 4 times. He became a golf pro; worked at Gulf Harbor Yacht and Country Club as their main golf pro for almost 5 years. Doesn't really sound as "tweaker" as you make him seem.

But oh well.

Don't let any of this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.

.... you noticed I had my account set to private (really does nothing but makes someone click two more times to view everything) ....

Well, not actually, It also prevents your posts from showing up in some search results, e.g., (iirc) when someone searches their own threads or conversations for those involving you. I bumped into this again a couple of days ago with someone else...

Honestly I'm a little baffled myself.

So the 20 or so pcf profit hungry hounds trying to buy low and sell high, who have no qualms about privately messaging a seller to steal a deal out from under the nose of a fellow "community member", are the picture of integrity.

But the guy who found out he had undersold his goods to someone that clearly knew the true value, is now a pariah for refunding the money?

Checks out lol

It's still a shame that I am agreeing with this op lol but oh well

Apparently you don't know how freedom works....

My kiddo is headed to Sydney to quarantine till Hobart Sunday. I'm tossing all the Vegemite. I swear to God....

Holy hell. My head hurts now after reading the entire book.

For the record, I'm not sheltered. I am, however, a nerd and once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

I wonder why everybody is so certain that it's this simple. When did everybody here become experts in contract law?
One guy assumes the chips are worth $30. The other guy knows the chips are worth over $2,000. You think this is a meeting of the minds?
I agree that here and in poker and in life, a man's word is everything. So personally, I'd never back out of a deal. But when people start tossing around legal terms like "contract" maybe they should focus on the law. And sadly, our ideals ("a deal is a deal!") have nothing to do with the law.

I'm just a small town pizza lawyer....
