You never took any contract law classes in school?I wonder why everybody is so certain that it's this simple. When did everybody here become experts in contract law?
One guy assumes the chips are worth $30. The other guy knows the chips are worth over $2,000. You think this is a meeting of the minds?
I agree that here and in poker and in life, a man's word is everything. So personally, I'd never back out of a deal. But when people start tossing around legal terms like "contract" maybe they should focus on the law. And sadly, our ideals ("a deal is a deal!") have nothing to do with the law.
I did. I wouldn't represent myself as any kind of authority on contract law but I know enough about it to know that this particular issue isn't as simple as people would like it to be.You never took any contract law classes in school?
It’s actually pretty simple. Offer and acceptance. A deal is a deal.I did. I wouldn't represent myself as any kind of authority on contract law but I know enough about it to know that this particular issue isn't as simple as people would like it to be.
When you talk law, I always hear it in Judge Marilyn Milian's voice.... And I don't know why..It’s actually pretty simple. Offer and acceptance. A deal is a deal.
Remind me not to hire you to get me out of a contract. It’s actually pretty simple. Offer and acceptance. A deal is a deal.

We have a deal...I think this will work best if i cut a deal with @BonScot to design the inlays, pay him, have him later back out of the deal, and just end up with blank chips from the manufacturer.
Now you can make a custom tribute creation for this XDWe have a deal...
and thanks for tagging me in this shambles of a thread. Got up at 5am for a piss, stupidly looked at PCF and now reading 7 pages of brain damage...

So my IANAL understanding is that a unilateral mistake of value (e.g. one party not knowing the value of an item being bought/sold) is generally not sufficient reason to set aside a contract. So regardless of your opinion on the morality of buying $1000 worth of poker chips for $30, it would likely be considered an enforceable contract if both parties agreed to the sale (and assuming no mistakes of fact).I wonder why everybody is so certain that it's this simple. When did everybody here become experts in contract law?
