That's a tale in of itself
Sooooo.....who do I tip to get the edge layers? I can make them, I guess....But I'd rather pay. Well, here's something I'm curious about....do the edge dimensions have to match up perfectly? Is the edge graphic perfectly proportional to the outer circumference of the top image?....I'm butchering this, so I hope someone knows what I mean.

I would recommend getting the dimensions as close to perfect as possible. They’re going to be off slightly on most of the chips, some a little and some more than a little…best to start off with perfect.
I’ve also noticed that edgespots that are organic in shape to mimic clay chips will make the non-aligned chips look better than the chips that have straight edgespots.

10-4….I’m trying to mimic the imperfections of real clay. Lots of clicking…

The big tip is that you don’t really need more edges than those in the one file. You will realize that spots are all multiples of each other at 1/8, 1/4, 1/2” etc and are in the same positions even if they are in different combinations. Overlay different chip faces with different spot patterns and you will figure out how to steal edges from different chips. I have made multiple cards mold sets and only ever needed to ask for one edge that I was not able to recreate using that one file.

Outstanding….now that I know how to make my own artwork I’m going to spend even more money of poker related accessories.…this will be expensive. Big thanks to everyone for helping.

There is also a way to measure the length of a curve in Illustrator. No math with pi needed. :ROFLMAO:
I figured....but don't know how yet....youtube helped me build a motorcycle engine. This will be easier....especially if you tell me. Something to do with the measuring tool, I assume.

What is the consensus opinion of when we might see the next Card Mold GB..? Hoping to get in on one where we can bring our own designs / artwork / etc. I'd be willing to commit for 1,000 to 1,200 chips right now....! I wish I had some more experience at all of this, and I would volunteer to run it, but there's too much knowledge I know I don't possess for it to turn out well... Anyone out there interested...?

Yes I would be interested in this. I would need help with the design process. But if I can get help designing my own chips, I’d be in for at least 2,000 chips. Thanks.

wondering how many I really need?

Every time I look at that thread, I increase the total I posted. The initial plan was around 400, its now up to 900 and who knows if it will go up more. I don't want to overkill like my last set (1900+ Vegas house mold chips) but they are so cheap, I might as well get enough to cover all games I host

I think I've done the same thing at least 5-6 times myself - plus if you buy a cash set you need to account for inflation! 15 years ago we were playing a lot of 5-10 cent or 10-25 cent poker. Now I don't have much use for the 5 cent chips anymore.

I still host a 5c/10c cash game in the rotation. I don't want to bother getting 5c chips so I just use the $5 as nickels. That way I cover both games

Hello! I've just bought a 39mm 500-piece Aria tournament set shipped to the UK, and reading through the sentiment here really made me want to reach out and give the artist a beer (or any other suitable donation). Does anyone know who did the Aria chips?

For reference if someone else wants to order to the UK:
500 chips - $140
Shipping - $108
Tax (20% VAT) - $49.60
Total - $297.60 (59c / chip)

I love nickel chips! And cards mold are so cheap - what's an extra hundred or so chips added on to a batch cost? 40 bucks? Big deal.

Plus ever think about what happens when a guy who plays in both your games pockets a couple of those $5s when they are playing as nickels, then brings them back for the $1/2 game? And don't say you "trust" all your players. I've seen people that I thought were of very high integrity do things a lot worse.

Cheating/stealing has little to do with morals and more to do with opportunity and the idea that "no one will know or no one will be hurt really"

Remove the opportunity.
Trust but verify

there's no nickel chip offered in the set I want ... and its not the same group of people. I doubt my wife or close friends/family members would do that and I count the chips at the end ... never an issue if you stay organized

Looking to get custom chips for an 8 person cash game. How many should I get? What denominations? Should I use Tina to get them done?

Happy to make suggestions, but we need more information. What stakes and size buy-in do you want to play? I like to be able to cover a wide range of stakes with my cash sets so I have everything from 5 cent chips (actually have one set with 2 cent chips) Up to $100 chips. I have small friendly games with family members and inexperienced poker players where we play .05 / .10 blinds and $20 buy in, with only a few re-buys. These games will use a .05 .25 $1 and a few $5 chips. But last night I played in a game with this same chip set. We played .25/.50 blinds, buy-ins were up to $100, and the game got fairly splashy with quite a few re-buys. The $20s and even a couple $100 chips made appearances. And then there are players in here who use $500 and up chips in their cash games. Maybe even 2 or 3 denominations above the $500.

So the point is, you need to tailor your chip set to YOUR needs. What is the most amount of money you think could make it onto the table? And then cover that by 2x, 3x or even more if you think the game might grow. What blinds will you play? And are you a minimalist who wants the least number of chips to run a good game, or are are you in the MOAR CHIPS camp and want the table covered in beautiful poker chip glory!!!

By the way - Welcome to PCF!
