Hero is in the game about 30 minutes. What is usually a juicy game is playing relatively tight. Villain 1 UTG is a solid reg with about $800 in front of him, villain 2 UTG+1 is unknown to hero but seems to know his way around the game and has been telling minor brag Vegas stories to the dealer and those interested at the table. V2 has over $1k. Hero sat with $500, now at $480.

Middle position raises to $15, several callers, Hero completes in SB with :4c::5c::6s::7s:.

Flop :4d::8s::9c:

Hero checks, V1 bets $50, V2 calls. Hero's action?

Fold. You're playing OOP against two people who you say are relatively solid and you're playing for the dumb end of the straight. While a 5, 6 or 7 all make a straight for you, a 7 is a bad card for you as you have the absolute bottom end of the straight, and you'll see JTxx here a fair amount. You have 2 backdoor flush draws but they're baby flushes and playing it OOP is just a huge spew overall.

V1 bets and V2 calls meaning you're seeing a draw here quite a bit by at least one of them, so a 9 hi straight is almost never going to be good against them.

Sorry...was distracted by beer angel, so call.

(If thinking about poker, probably fold. But seriously...beer angel.)

Hero calls flop. $230 in pot. Board :4d::8s::9c: Turn :th:

What hands do we put villains on in this spot?

What hands do we put villains on in this spot?

QJxx, J7xx. The most likely hand is something like QJ7x(x reasonably being 8, 9 or T).

The big problem with this hand is you've put yourself in a marginal spot OOP with no chance to re-draw to a better hand. You've made the worst straight ,J7 and QJ both have you drawing dead, and the way the hand played out, it represents exactly that. So what happens if you call turn? He's obv jamming river 99% of the time and you will either A) fold when you should have folded the turn or B) call when you're sure you're behind and have been since the turn.

This doesn't even go into V2 calling. While you're almost already certain that V1 has you drawing dead, V2 calling confirms that ONE of them have you drawing dead. While both of them having a straight is a good possibility, you also may be looking at straight vs. set, and you'd have to fold the river on a paired board anyway if you call.

To expand on villain's range, since they both limped 1 gap connectors seem the most likely, maybe with a pair. Things like JJT7, QJ78, QQJ8, J987, etc.

OOP against 2 solid players with the dumb end of a straight draw? Why?
I'm a feel player. And it's just $50, you can barely get a barrel of Paulsons with that these days. :D

On the turn I feel like folding and going to dinner.
