November would set a record for china clay delivery time. History would indicate February-March.

Found Josh's estimate...

China just sent me these pictures. I am very happy with them so far. I have requested to have hard samples sent so I can make a better review and see if we need to make any changes.
They are coming along faster than I expected and hope to have them in the states in November.

But that was before the crosshatch removal and sample reorder. With the month delay in solving the crosshatch issue, we're probably out to December for delivery to Josh. That's not too bad.

Speaking of removing the crosshatch, how does that work? Did a new set of molds have to be made? Doesn't that cost a small fortune?

I'm guessing they just shaved off that part of the mold (however that's done with a C&C machine) which resulted in the crown having a further recess. Just speculation on my part I have no actual information.

They possibly reworked the molds (shaving them with a milling tool, like forty4 said). There's a chance the first handful of chips were done with an aluminum or brass prototype mold, which is much cheaper than a tool steel production mold, but won't last nearly as long.

Don't forget to account for Chinese holidays. There might have been an estimate that they would be produced by October, then the month it takes for them to ship, but now we would hit National day, which is like a week long. That could delay it another week if they stop mid-production, or they could knock out smaller orders before that. They may also have other orders that slipped into the queue.

You must practice the patience of a Kung Fu master when dealing with Chinese production.

Unfortunately I have the patience of a Virgin on his honeymoon...

Not for these types of modular molds. The outer ring is a separate component, and was either re-worked or simply replaced with a new one.

i think there are a lot of folks who are, like me, just waiting to get our hands on the chips before ordering. i don't mind paying a little more if i like them, but i don't want to be stuck with a bunch of blanks if i don't care for the way they feel.
fully subscribe to your opinion!

I am considering making some plaques or a dealer button.
Matsui plaques will be around $19 and ceramics will be around $5.
Anyone willing to pay that much for matsui plaques?

If they were made, I'd pick up a minimum of one of each Matsui just to have. If I liked how they looked and the denoms fit with my set, I'd spring for some playable quantities.

Love to see Mock ups, but would def be interested in T-25,000 plaques if they get made with that denomination (I don't own any plaques and they would be perfect for 300 STT set I ordered)

I too would love a stack of Matsui plaque samples. 5-6 of them would suffice, and I would not balk at the $19 price tag. Then, if I thought they were good enough to warrant the price, I'd order a stack of custom Zombie plaques down the road - but the set-up fees are crazy, so I'd really have to love the samples.

I am willing to pay that much, but I will not be buying these.

I'm already in and paid for 20 Matsui plaques in another group buy on this site - that's for $100 denominated Matsui plaques with a US Currency theme. That's the right point for a high-bank plaque in my cash games, and I can use it with more than one sets - and I do intend to use them with a Majestic cash set, as well.

I would definitely buy 5 or $100 worth sight-unseen of a Matsui plaque. Problem is I doubt too many would want a $100 plaque. If so though, I'd take 5 right now of any color!

I got an email from the factory and they said the chips should be done by the end of the month. That puts us on track for early November shipping.
J5 is designing the art now for a 60mm dealer button from Old West. All you guys that put in preorders for sets will be getting a free dealer button. I will post pictures of the button once it is done. Ceramic plaques are going to happen too!

Well that's great! Guess that make me even happier that I'm adding another 200 to the order, just have to make the call.

Thanks Josh!
