The darker purple in the other examples doesn't look bad at all. However, because the background of the Majestic label is black, it does seem too close to the black chip. I'd go with the lighter purple.
For comparison here are some other black purple combinations. I never had any complaints about the Milano or Paulson home chips so I do not see why these would be a problem.

trying to figure out if i want to use brown or blue for nickels in a micro stakes centric set, with the stock quarters, 1s and 5s... help me make up my mind! :-)

Given that you're using the pink I'd probably go with the blue. But might throw in the purple for consideration. I actually think I might add the purple onto my order and then decide between the blue and purple. But I'm probably using orange for the .25. I'll order the NCV labels as well and then decide when I see them in person.

IMO based off LV colors, 5's should be related to the red family. Red $5, Purple (Blue+Red) $500, so with this reasoning, Brown nickle is the go-to, unless you are not getting the 50 cent - then Orange.

I was able to hold off for 5 months, but this morning I broke and ordered 800 blanks for a 2-table tournament set. I will avoid the whole dark purple looks better / light purple won't be lost in the black stacks issue by simply ripping a page out of the WSOP playbook and using Blue for the T500s.

Now, time to work on label designs...

Congratulations...
If I understand correctly, they have not come from the factory?

"one of us....one of us...."

i think there are a lot of folks who are, like me, just waiting to get our hands on the chips before ordering. i don't mind paying a little more if i like them, but i don't want to be stuck with a bunch of blanks if i don't care for the way they feel.

I imagine they will feel (weight/density) like the CPS chips. Dropping the crosshatching kind of sealed the deal, but I certainly respect the wait now/pay later mindset.

I already bought a bunch and am continuing to add to the order. Based on the samples pictured I am reasonably happy. The only two things I would like answered are:

1) A side-on stack shot. Not sure why this hasn't happened yet. I like to see the spots and how they line up and blend with the base.

2) I have noticed some color variances in the surfaces of the chips pictured. I'm hoping it's because of chip dust rather than a non-uniform clay mixture. Most notably in the green and brown chip

Do you mean like what you see on the Milano 500 here? That's dust/lighting and pretty much goes away with oiling/use.

Maybe. Nobody complained about uniforminty in the CPS chips so I would imagine that it won't be the issue with these. Still, I can't help but worry a little when you study the edges around the crowns....

Ok, looking at the crowns, I think what we're seeing is the strongly directional lighting in the white box causing highlights where the surface isn't flat. You can sort of see parallels with what's happening on the textured label surface (especially on the 25 and 1000). More typical diffuse light shouldn't do that.

I think you're giving the factory too much credit. I doubt any off camera lights, let alone soft boxes, was used for that image. Looks like it was taken with a point-and-shoot camera on a white desk. Heck... It may even be a flatbed scan.

:p

Look at the picture. There's a super hard shadow being cast by the chips onto the desk from a point light source (probably just a lamp, rather than a flash with a good diffuser). Definitely not a scan.

I have a bunch of CC Pharaohs and most have this not so perfect color condition. I think all but the hundos are infected. It doesn't bother me though and no one in my games has ever said anything. If you're just staring at the chips instead of playing with them then it might bother you.
