I wonder if the recess is deep enough for Gear's laminated labels.

I would think that if it can fit the labels traditionally used on china clays, it can fit Gear's laminated labels. We shall see, though, since that is my plan if I buy a set.

Also counting on the Gear laminated labels. I wish he could get an early sample to test.

The green spots on the pink really bother me now... I didn't see it at first, but the color does have a high ick factor...

Chips overall otherwise look great! Might have to do another add on for the yellow chips... the green spots on those are excellent.

Not that it matters much but I'm surprised that there aren't ANY red spots.....none! I think it would have improved the pink and yellow and diversified the chips a little more. But based on the last photo I'm already committed to the current product:rolleyes:

Maybe I could finally get my first cc's. Thinking of the following as a travel set:
100 $0.25 chips / orange
200 $1 chips / white or blue
100 $5 chips / yellow
100 $20 chips / brown
Just thinking.....

I'd be all over these after seeing the new pics, however I'm saving for a new table right now so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens to the price after they come in.

I'd say:

150 $5 chips / yellow
50 $20 chips / brown

... And maybe five Matsui hundo plaques. :) Then you're only at $250 less in bank from the reduction in $20s.

(Also, though I always prefer white singles to blue singles, I really dislike this blue chip as a single... for some reason, it screams "frac" to me, and the white chip already contains some blue.)

Just got the samples. China has made every change you guys requested.
1. Sharper edges.
2. Deeper mold marks.
3. No crosshatching.
I am very happy with these and will send payment tomorrow which means production will start.
BIG QUESTION. Which purple?
I really like the dark purple. Let me know which one you would like and the majority will call it.
In my experience with China once they receive payment it normally takes around 4 months for me to receive the chips.

I like the darker purple (top right) as the base.

My vote goes for the original lighter purple.

Poll added to thread. Please vote!

i think part of the problem is that the crosshatching makes the light look really bad.

Totally agree.

I like the dark better by far right now, and it still might be my favorite even after seeing the light without the crosshatchng, but as it sits right now the light doesn't have a chance.
With out the crosshatching though I can almost see how the light could make a very strong case for itself.

Think I've still gotta vote dark though...

Tried to search but could not find an answer. Are 5 cent labels available?

I have a minor concern about the Dark Purple (500) being too close to the Black (100). Yes, the spots will help, but differentiating chips in a stack across a table by a 1/8th inch spot will provide challenges for the visually challenged.

This is my concern too. I purchased every color so as a set I have to go with the light purple.

I played a tourney with red and orange chips with colors about this close in contrast. From across the table no one could tell the difference. Every bet needed confirmation which was annoying.

That being said the spots make it easy enough to identify the difference... so good with majority vote.
