Awesome! With deeper crowns and without crosshatching these do look more like true clays than ever before! I really strongly disliked the rough crosshatching on the CPS chips (and on the first version of these). My Dunes china clays do have no crosshatching, too, and I never missed it. I don't want, I don't need and I cannot afford another set at the moment, but with such fantastic colors (I especially like the $25, $1000 and $5000), I can't see me getting around at least a small set of these in the long run. Well done, Josh!

I wasn't planning on getting any of these, either. But they look really good, and I like the removal of the cross-hatching. I'm tempted.

Are the edges still as beveled as they are on the CPS chips? I'd be curious to see how the edges look compared to other china clays (Milano, CPS, etc).

Now wondering if black would be okay to use as the 100 chip (black $1's?). I do have some Silks dollar chips that are black, and the crown black chip is one of the nicest in the entire lineup. Blue is probably the least confusing for both uses, but it sorta pales in comparison with either the white or black chips.

Dammit, BG... I'm really liking the idea of Black in for the single.

I'm contemplating a cash set, but wanted to use the Matsui $100 Plaque GB for my hundo, but I loved the black chip in this set...

And now you've got me contemplating the following lineup:

Green $.25
Black $1
Orange $5
Yellow $20
Matsui Plaque $100

The colors are green at both ends.

Since most of my chips would be black and orange, it's now the "Majestic Pumpkin" set. The idea is growing on me.

But I think this means I'd be hand-labeling almost ever singly chip.

Dammit, BG...

Green $.25
Black $1
Orange $5
Yellow $20
Matsui Plaque $100

Opinion question:

What's the best color to add to this set as the NCV chip? It would most often be used as a the small blind, so it will most often be half a quarter in my quarter game. It may also play as a half-dollar in my $1 game, or a snapper if I host a $5 game... though if I get to hosting a $5 game, I'll have to ditch the plaques and get something more numerous working as a hundo, no doubt (only planning 20 of those.) Or maybe I just get a lot more plaques...

I love the new chips without the crosshatch. Looks great, Josh!!!

PS: I like the dark purple 500, but maybe change the now-lighter V to something that is more contrast-y - or all white spots? Or just go back to original lighter purple. That's just my take.

The more and more I look at these the more and more I can see myself ordering a small dual use/just a cash set, something along the lines of BG's idea but smaller. I think I'll still wait to see samples though, I don't mind paying a little more to know what I am getting. I almost bought a few of the CPS sets that where being sold right before the chips got off the boat, but after playing with them and getting my samples I was glad I didn't. These are looking like the things I didn't like about the CPS chips have been changed, namely the cross hatching. (did anybody feel like the crosshatching did everything it could to make a china clay look like plastic?)

If I do get a set I want to get the colors I like, so I'm thinking definitely orange, definitely white, definitely black; the rest I could be open to.

How does this sound:

$.25-orange
$1-white
$5-black
$25-red
$100-blue, yellow, or green

The mold looks way better without the cross hatching. I prefer the lighter purple, but the dark looks good too.

These are looking great. I'm going to go with blanks so I can work in that orange chip and switch some colors around. Go against the grain set...

These are looking better and better. Even the bevel seems to be very acceptable. Pics of stacked chips would have been nice.

tapatalking ...

These will make an excellent travel set.

A yellow $5 would be sick. It's the best one I think. All look great but purple, I'd change spot and base like some one said before.

Never mind, just noticed new colors. New purple looks great. Hard to NOT buy now.

I plan on going with

Green: 5c
Orange: 25c
Blue: $1
Yellow: $5
Black: $20

Blanks with the intent of slapping on some custom labels at some point :)

I'm thinking of this...

Brown: 5c
Blue: 25c
Yellow $1

The removal of the crosshatch looks really nice as does the mold

I would prefer the lighter purple, the dark is a nice color, but too dark.

Is that bevel going to remain? Id prefer sharper edges.
The bevel is pretty minimal in this sample. The bevel helps minimize edge chipping, which can be an issue with some china clays.

I'm really liking the way this is looking now that there's no crosshatch. Thinking about a cash set to replace my CPS cash set.

What do you think of this color scheme? It's basically a Cali color set, but I don't know if there's a standard for the fracs. I love the orange and pink chips and can't really decide which to use here. I'm probably leaning more towards the pink. For reasons of color separation I don't want to have two red shades in the set, that's why I'm not using both. The values will be 5¢ 25¢ $1 $5 $20. The idea for the range of values is so that I can play micro stakes with the family, on up to 25/50 games.

Do you like the orange or pink quarter?

+1 on orange. I might have to change my $.25 to orange so we can get to the 5,000 threshold. Ha.

Josh should refuse to sell to anyone whose order doesn't include some orange chips. easily the highlight imo followed closely by the green.

+1 Orange. FWIW, I think the pink underwhelmed on the CPS chips and I would be concerned it would here too. CPS orange is awesome and should be the same with this chip line.

That's a good point, the orange in the latest pictures pops quite a bit more than the pink. I'm swaying back over to the orange side.

I like the orange but I don't necessarily love it. I agree about the green though.

My problem is that I love both the yellow and the green but I don't love them in a set together.

yeah i agree with this. i have similar issues with the orange/brown and white/blue. tough to get all of the chips in a set like this to line up nicely together. i'd have preferred a different red (or at least flipping the black and white spots), but if i'm subbing orange anyway, no big deal.
