This is a valid reason to not like it. Just saying you don't like two colors in the same set that have a similar hue is silly. Edge spots also play an important part in whether or not the chips can play well together in the same set. I see no issue in using both pink and red in this lineup because the quarter has a very dark edge spot, while the $5 has a bright yellow edge spot.

You didn’t think people don’t like the same hue in 2 chips that play together was because of playability/visibility? I’m not sure what other reason there’d be….

100%, the edge spots can make a huge difference. In this one too the split spot makes it easier. And the fact a lot of people use solids only for fracs can help too... though I do love some of the spotted fracs I've seen on here.
Silly? I dunno. I came to the same conclusion on my own, independent of anything I’ve ever read here. You’ve pictured five chips, but realistically most of our cash games will play mostly with three chips. And I’ve concluded that having two out of three chips with similar hues is . . . silly.

Pink frac / red $5 is not the hill I'm dying on (pink fracs usually go with a blue or yellow $5 in my sets), but it works for me in certain sets/scenarios.
Especially when you do not have a "whole color palette" available building a Paulson THC real Nevada casino set with each chip from a different city.
A bright green THC $.50 would be cool (if not using a $25) if they were, well actually a thing... but it's Nevada.
Not a fan of white/gray/beige with these; so basically:
yellow - full on yellow theme set (I do have non Nevada yellow fracs to use in the set)
purple - a bit too dark for me in this set
orange - see below (started building a $.25 rack) needs to be blaze as regular orange looks dull and clashes with the red $5
hot pink - yeah, this works
I get the "same hue" concept, and your eyes may work different, but hot pink is a very very different color compared to royal red.
Big fan of the PCA set (I also really like the RHC $1s and have no interest in swapping them out for a THC alternative

I’ve grown too weary and moved on to bigger fish to fry in real life then argue online.
We need some new blood, or someone to take over shitting on some of these classifieds. Some of these for sales are just downright stupid, and people randomly posting chips for 20%+ than they’ve ever been historically continues to only ruin shit and cause others to lock down their chips further.
No thread crapping? Congrats, the market for top 30% of chips is ruined - all worthwhile exchanges are private, or over pay publicly.

It's weird isn't it? I don't care for pink spots in yellow chips but love yellow spots in pink chips, LOL! Yep, go figure...
I do like pink spots in blue chips though.

Pretty certain my wife has no clue what I've spent on chips. She's not really a numbers person, so she's not counting incoming packages and estimating costs. I bet if I asked her for a number, she would guess about 1/10th the actual number.
Don't judge me. I'm the breadwinner and pay all the major bills. She spends 100% of her retirement pension on whatever she wants, and gets pretty much anything else she wants from me. We've had separate finances for over 20 years, and it works great for us.

I’m bread guy here as well but she has a very nice income. Here’s the catch; I’m not involved in any of the finances. Don’t want it, ever had it in 30 years of marriage, and ain’t taking it.

With that being said the budget was $500 3 months ago and am now at least $35k over budget. Probably could have got a real tiger at that price.
