"Chips are made from sand, chalk and clay, similar to the materials used in kitty litter"

Interestingly, blah-blah in ancient Greek was registered as bar-bar.
Hence, barbarian, litterally "incomprehensible sound maker" and "foreign language speaker" and, hence, "foreigner".
Edit: NOT necessarily "barbarous" in today's terms, though most of the foreigners at the time were indeed barbarous :)

Okay, then bar bar bar
I have come to loot all the chippies

I know it's been said here before, but some for sale ads NEED to be thread crapped.

Prime example. We are always encouraging new chippers to "get samples!" But I really hope some new chipper doesn't stumble onto THIS one and pay this ridiculous price. Almost all china clay and cards mold chips for $1 each? This sale is just plain criminal. Price on this should be about $40. Sorry, I said it.

Welp, I saw that ad and started going on a cards mold rant here. Then I bit my tongue. Consider it unbit. And I’m not even ranting about the seller, I’m ranting about these card mold counterfeits. I click on that ad and I see a bunch of cool chips. Honestly, the one that caught my eye was the Aurora Star, because who would counterfeit those things? I’m sorry, but the Aurora star chips were the most vanilla design, almost obviously designed to be least objectionable to the most potential buyers. Which is fine if you’re talking about mint Paulson THCs. But people are actually copying these things?
But I digress. Cards mold copies of real casino chips are dangerous. I know they’re intended as tributes, not counterfeits. But seller intentions aside, whether it’s here or eBay or at a yard sale, they look exactly like the real things to the untrained eye. And to me, that’s garbage.
(Whew, glad I got that out of my system)

Aren't Aurora Stars fantasy chips in the first place? It's not a real casino, so not really sure how they can be "dangerous..." Or even counterfeits. You can't fake something that is already fake...

The Roman mold is only desirable because it was used on the original Rounders chips and is no longer available to have new chips made on it.

[expecting lots of neg. reactions to this one.]
I know I am guilty of wanting what I can’t have. I think it’s human nature.
When I was a kid growing up in Michigan Coors beer was not available East of the Mississippi (unless you knew the Bandit but I digress). People who went out west would often bring back a case of Coors and it was coveted. Now it’s on every store shelf here and nobody drinks it !
