Not a US thing…it’s how credit card companies make money. You may be confusing this with sales tax. I think this is referring to the charge credit card companies put on the vendor isn’t it? In most cases the vendor just eats the 3%. In very few industries, usually where the mark up is very slim, vendors give a cash discount to avoid the service charge they would get. I don’t think more than 1% of vendors do this.In the US, it never is...
