He also ordered these "13.5g casino Quality Heavy Clay Composition Poker Chips" off of Amazon. I thought they would be bouncing all over the epoxy but I was wrong, the epoxy is soft enough so the chips would pretty much not bounce any more than they would on pad+felt. The chips were also not as bad as I was expecting, they actually stacked and shuffled pretty well.

However, he added on a pink $5K chip that was almost the exact same color as the purple $500. Again, if he just would have asked for a little advice.....
He wanted to surprise you! I'm sure his little heart was broken when he realized that you hate it...

There's $135 in lumber and legs. He's already done the cutting.

I'd see if he'd take $75, then refelt and re-cover the rail... Probably needs new padding too. Looks like he used bounce dryer sheets.
I can't tell how much higher the wood is. 3-5 inches above the rubber felt surface? He should build ramps to assist looking at the cards.

He used dryer sheets that weren't used so it adds a fresh smell to your elbows!

One of my regulars commissioned a Star Wars themed poker table, apparently sight-unseen. This is his first ever poker table. He's played on my table for a few years and knows that I've been hosting for 20+ years yet didn't mention anything until a few days before his new table was to be delivered. I mean, all he had to do was ask for a little advice.

Here is his new epoxy topped table we played on last Saturday...it was a complete failure. Obviously not built by anyone who ever played poker. Notice the slips of paper he was using so that the players could actually lift their cards off of the surface, without the paper under the cards it was almost impossible. There's a superfluous chip tray (self-dealt game) and the rail is a bit janky too.

He loves it though....at least that's what he said. He said he could get the guy to "fix" it by maybe creating a felt racetrack so you could at least pick up your hole cards. I told him that the playing surface needs to be felt, but he was having none of that. I'm hoping he will come to his senses, sell this monstrosity and buy a proper table.

I told him straight-up that I will never play on that table again.

Your whole story is my nightmare. Good lord I've never thought about one of my players doing this. I'd die. First the table and then the chips... just.....

"Let me ask you sir. Why are you selling such a nice table?"

"Welp...all m'players and m'dealer got the elbow cancer from rubbing elbows on the playing service. They all died terribly painful, elbowless deaths. Guess using m' old putting green was a bad idea. Damn BPA." $200 obo

Dirt, wood chips, and saw dust included!

I love the ones people can't be bothered to even clean off, then claim "Only used once or twice!"

I saw one the other day for $900ish I think, that said "Condition: Great", and it looked like it had been collecting basement dust and trash for years lol. What's wrong with people...

Creative base. You can roll it anywhere like str8 to the dump.
I’ll bet it’d clean up nice though. They nailed the rail and those rails aren’t easy. Needs a little help in the pedestal department.

My game tonight
Ya know you’re a parent when you’re like “oh hey! Honey, they went with the same color nugget as we did!!” Hahaha

(for anyone who doesn’t know, that gray couch kinda thing off to the left is called a “nugget” and kids love it!!)

Haha! That nugget is a good buy, at least for my kids. They don’t really sit on it, but they sit next to it and play with their toys on top of it.

And ugly poker table is gone, but the nugget remains lol

I didn't even see that, we have the green nugget haha. Kiddos basically use it for a padding on the floor to jump off the couch like they're in the WWF. Those suckers are expensive for what they are!
