Man I should have done this when I joined… I was still in college too. Missed opportunity in my part. lol

Maybe @RocAFella1 can help. ;)
I'm gonna create a new account every three months, GFM for $1000 each time until I have enough to buy @RocAFella1's Ambassador Plazas.

You always have enough money for chips. Go steal a TV, maybe grab some copper piping from somewhere on campus. If your dedicated enough nothing can stop you!

As much as I think OP should not have ask for handouts

This is just as bad or worse, don’t take this advice seriously as I will not be surprised if OP actually thinks it a good idea

Just do the common sense thing and work for money or ask ur parents for helpouts

So many ways to make good money here.

If you need a couple hundred thousand, you could submit a GPI order or buyout a casino. But you’d need funds to do that.

We just lost our forum chip murderer, so you could provide those services.

Or just buy a couple racks of chips and auction them one by one on eBay for a decade.

The world is your oyster. But we don’t need only fans, we already have folks dancing on poles at meetups.

I was hoping it was clear it’s a joke. Hard to convey sarcasm over text. But, seriously there are a lot bigger issues to worry about if you are considering felonies to fund your poker habit…

I think the Apache chips are worth playing with and they are very affordable. I have a break down post in my signature as well as a New Members page you can read through.

You should be able to get 600-800 chips for about 400 USD, but you can short it and get enough chips to start playing for 250ish. Pick up a mat for 120 and you've got your start.

I would suggest you play .05 / .1 and start off with a break down of

.05 x 100
.25 x 100
1 x 200
5 x 100

This will let you start playing and if you need to you can let 20s play as cash. You can add onto this over time, and that break down should be somewhere around 250 USD.

This is also all the .05 / .25 and 1s that you will need in a set, so when you add on you can add up to 3 more racks of 5s and a rack of 20s. This would be a complete chip set that is 10 times nicer than anyone else you know has.

Generational Differences I guess. us "old timers" would never really think to take too many short-cuts with things like this, and if we wanted something, we'd save up our cash and buy it. Of course we see the younger generation making cash on TikTok, YouTube, and other social platforms, and thinking money is just a thing that everyone has. I'm working with my boys on the value of working hard and saving money now, and it's a hard concept for them.

As my parents always told me, we have wants and needs, and the needs always take priority. This hobby has no "needs", and if this is something you really want, you'll have to wait for the right time.

Save your loose change, and play Nickel/Dime/Quarter. Buy dice chips for now at Walmart and try to win your games. Use that "bankroll" to work towards your setup. Play better, learn the game(s), strategy, and find a college whale to get into your game that can donk $10, $20, $50 or more each game. Before you know it, you'll have that bankroll to roll into your setup. If you get better, and you find more lucrative games, play in them.

Just my simple advice, and I wish you the best on your journey.

There must be pain. Spare the rod, spoil the child.

I'll loan you the money at a crazy-high interest rate, or I'll give you the money if you voluntarily take a beating.

No pain, no gain.

I am not a murderer. I'm more like Jigsaw using machines to do my twisted bidding. So... I'm a clown.

Start a poker game 1/2 NLHE. Rake $10 a pot

Even if the pot is only $3. Just take the money.

By 11:30pm you’ll have enough
I almost spit soda on my keyboard cause I recently played in a home game where it was some weird version of hold em with an Ante. They rake the entire ante every hand. :ROFLMAO:

This is excellent advice!

Take it from me. My bankroll started at $200 and look at me now. I'm bankrupt, but I know a lot of cool guys on this forum now  :ROFLMAO:
