The King’s Course at Gleneagles yesterday. I’m playing Archerfield on Thursday, back to Gleneagles on Friday the Turnberry on Saturday. It’s a hard life doing business networking in Scotland :wtf:

Went to the PGA Superstore again on Sunday for round 2 of club testing for new irons. Round 1 was a couple different Taylormade clubs, and the Qi was the winner over the P-790.

For round 2 I hit the Titleist T-350, the Callaway AI smoke, and the Tour Edge E723. Even though my best single shot was with the Tour Edge, it was not very consistent. But the Titleist was very consistent, and a clear winner from this group! Then I hit it again against the Qi, and it won again.

Next week I'll be going back to hit the Mizuno JPX923, the Ping G430, and maybe one of the higher end Mizunos, just to be sure that I don't want a players iron. After that I'll be scheduling a fitting, and testing the top two or three again. But I think it's going to be hard for anything to beat the T-350.

I love the level of detail you’re putting into your iron purchasing.

Do you have a PGA Superstore near you? Dude! It's like two hours of free entertainment. I think I would go there once a month or more, even if I wasn't looking to buy new clubs.

I've never done this before. Last time I wanted new clubs I did online research, then picked from the ones I was interested in partially based on price. I think I got some good clubs, but they were still just off the rack, and not fit specifically to me. But at my age now, I need every advantage, and I do really want to step up my game as I get ready to retire and start playing a lot more golf. I don't think anyone disagrees that a club fitting is a big deal to optimize their game. What I didn't realize is that as long as I purchase the clubs from them, the 2-3 hour fitting session is free! Seems like a no-brainer.

My local PGA Superstore is 3 hours away in Houston. I go once or twice a year lol.

Absolutely unreal golf holiday in the Costa Del Sol, fair play. Highlight of the trip was La Hacienda's Links course; simply put, up there with Turnberry as the best course I've ever played.

From the second you walk in to the minute you (reluctantly) drive out, this place is absolute perfection.

Surely the greatest halfway house in Europe, too...

Managed what could have been one of my best rounds ever: +3 after 9 holes (which included a double on the first); 5 birdies for the round; +1 after 12, but went double, double, triple from 13 through 15. Also three-putted the last to miss out on my second-ever 79; still, an 80 was playing to handicap.

Didn't manage to get it on camera, but had my third-ever eagle on one of the other courses, thanks to a 100-yard, third-shot holeout on a par 5. Some other highlights below — enjoy!
