Have we finally reached market saturation?? (1 Viewer)

There may be a few of us that have been around a long time and looking for specific chips to fill holes. The Tiger sales provided the opportunity to get full claw sets, California, standard, and with all the great spots resurrected. How many of us filled the holes with Tigers and are essentially retired? There are chips in our caves to sell but not now. Now all I have are customs, Vegas sets, nagb chips. All other projects abandoned and sold off. I know I’m not alone.

to fill holes.
Heh heh. He said "fill holes." Heh heh.

If someone wants to post some Crystal Park hundos, I’ll show you how fast shit can pop off in the Classifieds threads.

I’ve got 3 contractors in India doing a follow-the-sun schedule just endlessly refreshing and staring at the classifieds, scanning for Crystal Park chips. I’m doing my part to make this community strong, free, and…strong and free.

I have some for face value plus 50% harvesting fee

I put up a 9 lot sales add Sunday afternoon and sold off 6 of them before I went to bed, including 3 lots of *gasp* RHC's. Sales are still strong. The problem is everything is either $900+ Tiger racks that nobody can afford or ugly Chiproom sales junk like Jumers that nobody wants.

I've always been curious what the market would look like if people here had any self control and didn't have to be involved in every sale. Or if they didnt keep closets full of unused sets. THAT might flood the market. Maybe some of the newbies could get a decent priced starter set?

I will add, which someone might have already mentioned, but I haven't read all of the thread, that membership keeps going up on this site, as more people find interest in owning sets of chips, so the bar for saturation will keep rising.
Would love to know the analytics. Site visits, time on site, unique visitors, etc growth of site. Understand if @Tommy didn’t want to share but what he could would be fun.

And wait until poker is legal in 20+ states online. The streaming is helping but a boom is coming. If not online, Omaha, HORSE ETC and circus games are certainly growing.

HORSE baby, bring it!
I definitely remember Tommy sharing new users by year, a couple of years back.

maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember seeing you a couple years ago

You don't need Tommy's permission or access to get this. You can use pretty much any SEO tool that is able to give you traffic analytics data. I use Semrush, but there are a ton of others that will also give you a free trial.

Totally. SEOmoz and several others. I always question them and only trusted google analytics. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.

Super low bounce rate. That’s good. Pages per visit is huge wow. We are some degens.

Hahaha

I don’t follow why it matters or correlates when I joined PCF saying I agree website traffic would be cool to know. Not the first time @ovo has shot across the bow lol
It doesn’t matter. @ovo just gave me the opportunity to be an ass and I took advantage. ;) Speak softly and carry a big shit stirrer I always say.

35.5k unique visitors surprised me tbh (I would have thought lower considering there are only 11k members and certainly not all of them are active).

Lol at a 1 hour avg. visit time... what a bunch of degenerates we lot are.

I don’t think total user accounts is a good yard stick. I can think of many members who are no longer active and others who have achieved chipping equilibrium. Even the hottest classifieds thread or new NAGB or TCR sale has what? 150-200 viewers?

The market will always change when some new chips come readily available, many people have hit their end game sets(for now...) recently. I think PCF still has a lot of room to grow specially outside the US.

Talking about a new poker boom is interesting, I do feel that Omaha and mixed games are getting more popular and personally I think that is good for poker in general. It also creates purpose for different sets.

0 grumpiness, I’m *STOKED* to have near mint chips from my home casino at a reasonable price.

I just think the level of mob mentality/echo chamber here is a bit over the top, I guess you could say some level of grumpiness - but with the membership not with TCR.

Not saying anything or anyone is objectively right or wrong, but the wording and understanding is muddled at best. If someone else sold chips in the same way, they’d be crucified. Sale listing doesn’t mention that chips vary in condition wildly, so much so that the market value of your purchase can be in the range of $1000s different than someone else’s. It also doesn’t say that chips are a specific condition, so that makes it okay was the opposing argument.

In every other interaction I’ve ever had or seen, that wouldn’t remotely fly. Yet it’s not to be said or discussed publicly. Again, I’m all for Jim and 100% believe he’d take care of any issue - that’s not what I have qualms with. It’s the different rules for different vendors, sellers, chippers, modding, etc. based on….idk what.

What are some of the “mint chips” you refer to that are available. I am a rather new chipper and I’ve had my head mostly into ceramics for quite some time before even looking at Paulsons. I take my time on researching things.
