Upon closer inspection, my $5s are fairly beat up as well. 22% GO chips. Hoping to salvage at least a full rack that aren’t banged up too badly.

If they’re like mine they’ll prolly clean up really well. Mine are more dirty than worn. Once I clean them today I’ll post pictures.

Mine are definitely dirty! Lots of nicks and flea bites, but a good amount of lightly used chips as well. This barrel seems fairly representative of the whole:

If yours are similar to this @detroitdad , I would consider this used. Heavily used is bit of a stretch.
Mine are definitely better than this quality wise on the whole. I mean, it's clear they aren't sharp like the secondaries, but my chips and fleabites are a lot lower.

This doesn't bode well for the actual table chips, either.

Still choked I couldn't get 8 lousy $1K Secondary for All In chips ... would have put up with the other shortcomings lol.

@RivieraDanny interesting to see who actually wanted what with how the % limits are forcing stuff back onto the market immediately.

Fair enough. I'll reword it, they are heavily used for my standards

Yeah they seem to be on the outlier side after people posted pictures and checking mine. I wonder if others are like this that hasn't post pics.

If you're planning to use those chips for all in, it was meant to be. Poker Gods weren't having it. There are buttons for those. All in buttons are meant to significantly bigger too.

Interesting, some of the prim. $5s look fairly used, to the point where it would really bug me using them in a set with sharp secondary chips. Curious how my order will look when it comes - hopefully I’ll be able to sort out 3 decently sharp racks.

Same for me. I think these chips saw minimal play maybe a few months, but certainly not 2 years of casino play. I don't think the table chips are gonna fair so well though considering these were reserves. I think the table chips will be similar to the used HSI chips in wear. I don't think HSI was open for that long either.

You gotta be an optimist! Who knows what sort of near mint beauties are in the bottom on those barrels.

I think it’s fair. As a reformed RHC basher, I still have to revert to my old position - RHCs wear like shit, so condition REALLY matters here.
wow
the level of heavily used for some peoples shipments compared to like new for others is astonishing
Right. That rack of rejects that somebody is auctioning off really seems to put the above-pictured barrel to shame.
Welp, that’s why they’re sold cheap! And if anybody wants to return their chips, hit me up!

Also I wish there was an alternative way that is still effective to get the chips from the casino rather than having them dumped into a barrel. I guess the casino only cares about the money and says this is good enough. I guess there really is no other efficient way by bulk.

That doesn't work for me. I'm not a fan of mixed condition sets.
That would’ve been my preference as well, but I’m not looking to fork over the $$$ for mint chips and these are good enough for me. I’m going to felt these multiple times a week so the mint chips will prolly get a little worn after a while and match the condition of the $5’s better. Overall I’m quite pleased to have been lucky enough to get a set especially since a lot of people didn’t so I can’t complain that much. Only a little lol.
