Going to give Keto another try. Hope to learn from others next week at the Alamo.

Getting my bacon stash ready. Smoking six pounds of bacon. Four pounds this load plus two pounds to go.

Processed deli meats are something I avoid. Too many better options out there.

I do like weekends, tho, when I can spend a little more time making breakfast... I'm gonna try this creamed spinach and sausage. Also, I've been looking for a hash brown alternative... I've used cauliflower rice and found it tastes like, well, cauliflower. But I'm willing to give this a try...

Spam fries with Dijon mustard. Crispy, delicious, and keto.

I simply sliced up some Spam and cooked in the air fryer at 380F for 10 minutes - no need to add salt or oil (the Spam already has plenty of both).

Had my annual health screening at work this morning. It was Great! Weight 210 (down from 260 last August), Triglycerides 70 (down from 250 last August), can't recommend Keto Eating any more than those numbers! Amazing, just gotta stay away from high sugar foods, snacks, pop, processed meats and eat real food. Eggs, bacon, cheese, avacodo, spinach, chickens, steak, ect. And honestly haven't exercised much over the last 3 months, with moving and whole job relocation. Goes to show working out has very little to do with weight management, it's all about your diet and what you put in the fuel tank! Have a nice week all and keep going after your goals!

I forgot my keto lunch at home today :/ Where do people go when they have to eat out for lunch?

Chipotle - go for the carnitas bowl without rice and beans. Add cheese, hot sauce, lettuce if desired, and guac. It's a perfect keto meal.

I'm pretty sure it's closer to >99% of people.

Someone did a study not too long ago about past contestants on The Biggest Loser and almost all of them had gained it all back over the years.

People often say that diets "don't work", but the reality is that diets DO work (almost any diet), but people fail to adhere to them. It's a fascinating topic of human psychology IMO.

I've got about 40 pounds to lose.

So...Monday, I'll get going on Keto. In the mean time, I'll be eating up all of the fresh fruit in my house...I LOVE fresh fruit this time of year. I'll make a trip to the butcher before the end of the weekend, get some good stuff for the week.

Gotta say, it's the IPA that makes me sad just thinking about this journey. My username is not lifta-eggcup.

You can do it Mel. It’s tough at first but gets easier as you go. This thread in itself is a great motivation.
This is a picture of my brisk 30 minute walk today on the treadmill. 4.2 MPH at a 5 degree incline. A little over 2 miles and 328 calories burned.
The cardio will kick your metabolism into hi gear.

Very true. It’s very easy to fall back into bad habits and lose focus. Once a person gets themselves to their desired weight I believe it becomes somewhat if not a lot of motivation to stay at their goal.
You just have to stick with it even when you don’t want to. One thing that’s helped keep me 25 lbs lighter for almost 9 years now is the memory of being out of breath when I got to the top of the stairs.
I NEVER want to experience that again! That was the final straw for me and still one of my main motivating factors to stay healthy.
I’m a firm believer that once you reach your goal, if you eat healthy 75% of the time and squeeze in an hours worth of cardio a week, you can eat what you want the other 25% and stay in a healthy range.
Stay focused and eat right during the week, relax and enjoy yourself on the weekend.

Wife sauteed chard, kale, basil, peppers, zukes and onions. Then she layered low sugar tomato sauce, then veggies/sausage, then ricotta cheese. Then layered again and put cheese on top.

Really good.

Really can't beat a keto breakfast.

I've had a strange week since I've been immobile for much of it. But one thing I've noticed on keto is I am just NOT hungry. On Emerald Bay delivery day, I got to about 10pm and noticed all I had had to eat that day was 1 hard boiled egg and 1 chicken sausage. Wasn't even hungry. I understand the importance of keeping up the calorie count. But it's nice to not be hungry!

Just had sharp cheddar scrambled eggs and a couple slices of bacon. Except for the beer part, this isn't so bad.
