*** Well, boogers ***

Hero ponders at some length trying to find a reasonable way to continue, but fails. Hero elects to fold.

The UTG LAG pauses and begins to chatter, asking Crafty questions but doesn't give him much time to answer. Hero is starting to feel little sick about the fold. It takes 15 seconds or so for UTG to call $155 more.

Crafty tables :6c: :7c:
UTG LAG tables :qh: :jc:

River is the :ad: a brick. Hero did have the winning hand - bleah.

UTG gives us a little speech afterwards. " I know Pops {that's me} doesn't have the flush 'cause I have the :qh: and he didn't 3-bet me with :ah: :jh: or worse so he has to fold even AA". "Figured the old man {that's crafty} would fold anything but the flush, but he made a donkey call and got lucky". Ok, so tact isn't his forte. And maybe his poker logic wasn't quite as sound as he hoped.

Missing out on a thousand + pot leaves a mark, yes it does. Of course, so would blowing a $650 stack.

Knowing your villains I guess...I'm just really amazed hero was ahead. I think in 99% of cases with this action ... You are behind. Not +EV in the long run to put a big stack at risk.

I agree with that assessment. Hero has every reason to think someone has the flush or perhaps a set leaving Hero with ~9% equity or less if the set is jacks or kings.

But once we see Hero wasn't behind, the new start thinking how sweet that big pile of chips would have looked. $1,750+ stack . . . . Yum!

Nothing wrong with the fold with this turn action. Heads up against the LAG you will need to make some tough calls. You can also open up 3bets

I wouldn't have reraised preflop, but I'd have otherwise played this hand the same way, including the turn fold.

We're going to run into at least one made flush far too often in that spot to chase the equivalent of a gutshot. This is not even to mention that two players staying in reeks of a flush and a big pair-type hand, which means we may be in even worse shape than 4 outs (if a jack and/or king is out).
