Seems that they overlooked you.Little irritated right now. I started the 10/10/25 game list when I got here
Then noticed I was somehow 16th out of 18 on the list
Spoke to the room director and was told that someone called in a dedicated list of people who would all show up at an agreed upon time to start the game, which bumped me down the list lol

Anthony, thank you for this thread ... as a relative newb here, I just have to say this is still one of my favorites. Countless times I've typed up a reply or question or snarky comment related to your PLO decision-making, then I just delete and keep reading because I remind myself how much worse my own decision-making would look in real time. Your raw honesty is refreshing.
Look forward to connecting with you someday at a meetup. FYI my kids are hardcore rollerskaters. Hard. Core.

These semi private games happen in my area all the time, especially at Maryland live. I know it’s a source of frustration for the pros and some of the regulars at the casino, but at least in my area the casino would never get the big fish to the casino otherwise (or get the game off). Mgm stopped allowing it because some guys took advantage of it. But Maryland live welcomes us with open arms because they want hi stakes games in their poker room. Generally speaking, I never play poker at the casino unless I am invited to one of these games. Rather just play baccarat.Little irritated right now. I started the 10/10/25 game list when I got here

I wonder if @aggie will be a Drooler, non social hoody guy, pro, or Cuban in @Anthony Martino eyes.overlooked

Seems like the casino wants to run a private game....which I suppose is their right. If you want to be invited to said game, though, then maybe tread lightly with how you treat them? I totally understand your points, but If the game is worth playing in then maybe just deal with their BS the best you can.So I'm still pretty irked about the whole 15 players bumping me from 1st to 16th on the list I fucking started yesterday. The politics of the poker room make it frustrating, as there are a lot of scumbags out there trying to control who can play with their whales.
A number of them bitch outright, saying I "hit and run" (yeah, I'm sorry I didn't want to stick around in a game flipping for 2k stacks every fucking hand?)
One of them had the audacity to say yesterday he wouldn't complain about me if I was going to stay in the 10/10/25 game until "3am". Ah, hello fuckface, YOU fucking maggots are the ones who pushed me from 1st to SIXTEENTH on the fucking list. If I had been FIRST on the list like I was supposed to be, I would stay in the game longer. But by the time I've gotten into the game I've already been at the casino for 7+ hours as it is.
Then when I'm in the game they complain and ask when I'm leaving, and then when I DO finally leave they accuse me of hitting and running!
A HUGE majority of them also LOVE to go fucking north and buyin for more than the stakes permit, either doing it outright at the start or slipping in more chips as time goes on. They do this across all the PLO stakes I've seen, and I've kept quiet about it in the past.
But I'm going to be paying attention to these guys and calling the floor anytime I notice it from now on. They want to make things difficult for me, I'll use the rooms rules right back at them. I'll slow the fucking game up anytime one of them goes north. I tried being the nice guy, that's over with now. They fucked with the wrong Weeble Wobble!

I think it’s pretty clear that you have that capability. These guys are going to be dicks I can be one too.
Exactly. I was with Anthony until this. Going north and going south are not in the spirit of the game, but if they keep going north to add on because they're drooling their stacks to Anthony, I wouldn't say anything....yet. It's when they go north to cover Anthony in a siutation that would reduce Anthony's equities by having the lower stack when his was higher previously, that I'd call attention to it.Don't bite off your nose to spite your face. You need these guys to keep giving you money.

If the casino wants to have private games, that's fine. Just have a public game that they've been offering at the same stakes as well, and don't bump down a regular that spends thousands at their casino a week on a public list and piss them off. I'm with Anthony there.
I know you tip well, but perhaps tip better, even when not warranted?
Imagine this: Walking up to the desk after finding out you were just bumped to #16. Pulling 2 crisp hundos out and saying "Hi, I think I was number 2 on the list, right?
Maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't. Either way, tell them the bills are his, and you appreciate the effort to fix the error.
Figure your hourly win rate. Is it better to sit out for 2-3 hours, or to grease the wheels of change with (what amounts to less than) a postflop check-raise?
