Dodger
Flush
Game 2 of the young season for our league. Didn’t get many photos as I was trying to stay locked in. 14 runners, 5 rebuys, 10 add-ons. Finished in 2nd.
Ended up with ICM chop. In $500, out $700. Got some heat for insisting on ICM vs straight chop or keep playing.3 left. I need 2nd or better to be in the positive (4 rebuys, ouch).

That's really nice! The wife and I are shopping now for our forever home, and my one biggest requirement is that there be a detached workshop/extra garage or space to put one up. No more tiny suburban lots with next door neighbors under my elbow. Half acre+ if possible.Using the travel set for a friends tournament that I just found out I am running. Works for me, great venue and will work for a 4 table Crazy Xmas game.

Who needs a dedicated poker room when you have friends garages and shops.
That was one of the requirements when we bought our house. The ability to bounce a tennis ball off the wall without it hitting the neighbor's house. That's really nice! So you have some elbow room, but not enough to build or add on?That was one of the requirements when we bought our house. The ability to bounce a tennis ball off the wall without it hitting the neighbor's house.
Mission accomplished.
I just wish I had discovered poker before we bought. A dedicated poker room would be the bomb.
Broke about even overall for the night but the game was a huge success because I got the crew to play some circus games!
That's a few hours of fun completely free by my calculations. Not the worst deal nowadaysIn for $26 (because that's 3 barrels of chips).
2 hours, a bottle of wine, and a couple martinis later...
...out for $26. The toughest decision is, is this home games thread material, or WTF thread?
Had a fantastic time brother! Thank you soo much for having us down! You and Mrs. Heather hosted a fantastic game! Unfortunately I only took 1 pic!
Ben the next time those Navy boys give you any trouble just tell em to get back on their rusty boats & go do some figure 8s in the middle of the PacificHad a fantastic time brother! Thank you soo much for having us down! You and Mrs. Heather hosted a fantastic game! Unfortunately I only took 1 pic!

I was up for a while but punted it back in to the Navy boys... in for $25 out for $20... but it's all good man, would have happily donated a few buyins for that evening!
Great to see you again @Greenackers22 and awesome meeting @pokrgeek21 aka (Ben Alfack) keep us posted on a game doen your way brother! Again you are very close to @Seeking Alpha Social Club so hit him up for some awesome Holdem poker!
Been a while since we have been down to National Harbor, it was absolutely beautiful Nate, the Custom table, extremely comfy chairs and 44mm customs were all amazing! Looking forward to doing it again sometime!
Correct.... huge trees towards the front, road to north side, septic tank towards the back, neighbor/fence to the south. Thought about going up, but some idiot built the attic 24" on center. That said, I have no complaints. Almost 3 acres of land, a great deck, and a lovely view!So you have some elbow room, but not enough to build or add on?
Sad that I had to miss the game. I was amped up to head down thereBen the next time those Navy boys give you any trouble just tell em to get back on their rusty boats & go do some figure 8s in the middle of the Pacific
Next time!Sad that I had to miss the game. I was amped up to head down there
The guy who bought the dice chips was insistent on using different denominations than is standard (50c, $1, $5, $10) and also using different colors than what might be familiar. Ie: 50c blue, $1 black, $5 green, $10 red. Not to mention the dirty stack issues between the dark blue and black that are nearly indistinguishable. Lastly, he wanted to use paper cards and then complained when they were bowing and wanted people to peek different . I bit my tongue and enjoyed the game . But I promised to upgrade the chips and cards and reminded myself they will be here soon .
How do you guys handle this? Always make sure to host your own game and run a tight ship
Short-handed (7 players)
Disagree. 6 or 7 handed is fine for mixed games or even PLO variants. But there isn't enough variance in NLHE. There needs to be more hands in play to make any real money. I mean, unless you raise J9 pre and flat a 3bet, then flop top 2 and get it all in on the turn against QQ who doesn't improve...7 players isn't short handed. Its the perfect table size. Even if its NLHE.
