That's on the shelf at my store. Pretty sure it's been available for a while. We really need better distributing! I am tired of the lack of Weller options here!Last new bottle for a while. Had to get it from behind the counter at my liquor store. $40 for 11 year juice, heard good things, it has potential.

It's a 2019 bottling. 2008 distilling/barreling. So yes, been around a little while. That's on the shelf at my store. Pretty sure it's been available for a while. We really need better distributing! I am tired of the lack of Weller options here!
Now I’m curious how it tastes!!!So I opened the Dickel Bottled in Bond tonight. Definitely impatient to try it, but I had a theory first. I removed the "cork" (It's fake cork, trust me) and took a waft. That first odor was offensive to my olfactory nerves. Swill would have been a good description. Lots of ethanol, maybe even some methanol, plus some whiskey odors hiding in there. Very off-putting.
And all I did next, was leave the cork off, and let it sit on my counter for a couple hours. Tested my theory. Left it alone to breathe. I waited, then I returned. Took another waft. And you know what. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Night and day. I think it was the most delicious bottle of alcohol I'd ever smelled. Time to drink it!
It's good, and I like it. It's hard for me to describe anything I drink other than I like it or I don't, UNLESS, I am drinking it side-by-side with another bottle. Next time I'll pit it against Chicken Cock or Rare Breed and see how it does. Now I’m curious how it tastes!!!
2 hours and 70 miles to find that KO Batch 2. Gonna be another good weekend.View attachment 554577
I’m a British guy living in Singapore. A few of my friends work with Macallen but I really don’t get in with Scottish or Irish whisk(e)y in any form.I can't pretend to know much, but I do drink a lot of it, so I think I'm qualified to start the thread at least.
Currently killing off a bottle of Woodford Reserve, but my preferred drink over the past year has been Elmer T. Lee, which I think has to be the best bourbon for the dollar. I was primarily a scotch drinker until approx 18 months ago when I started delving into bourbons and i've found it very rewarding with the aforementioned Elmer being my happiest discovery (via recommendations from friendly users on that other site).
I know there are certifiable whiskey snobs on this board, though, so I'd love to hear what everyone is enjoying these days.
Etsy...$5One of my favorite Ryes, for sure.
Did you print the 1915 label for the O-Fo (or was it Gear)? LOL!
It's not. I hung out with an Elijah craig rep yesterday. It'll be seasonal like Michters toasted. People around her are charging 200 for Elijah Toasted now. So buy em all and send em to me!I can't swing a stick without hitting a EC Toasted around here. I heard its gonna be part of their permanent lineup.

I can’t find one. NEED!Finally found a local spot with a somewhat decent selection
Had a couple bottles for 40 bucks here surprisingly. I went when this place first opened and selection was terrible. Glad I checked it out again. Terrible scotch prices but solid bourbonI can’t find one. NEED!
So you bought all the Taylor? Or is it rationed?Had a couple bottles for 40 bucks here surprisingly. I went when this place first opened and selection was terrible. Glad I checked it out again. Terrible scotch prices but solid bourbon
Elijah Craig Small Batch is a great intro to bourbon, especially for the price point. I don’t know much about scotch, but I think Glenlivet is good.
Great!
Great!
But ditch the sour mix and go with simple syrup and fresh squeezed lemon for a much better cocktail
Oh duh, good call! I have both of those ingredients too so perfect
Try a simple 2:1:1 booze:sweet:citrus ratio. Enjoy!
