I got quoted $900 for Rip 10yr yesterday. Probably could have negotiated down if I threw in some McKenna and EC BP and a bottle of champagne, but even down a bit is still 6x my max budget for a bottle. If anybody has a list of things they want, I'll literally buy them and send them to you at cost just to increase my rep and relationships with some of these guys. PM me a list, and next time I go out, we can start the conversation.

Secondary on it here in NJ is between $300 and $350; and I think that's robbery.

Having an after dinner dram of Stranahan's store pick (112 proof) with some home made oatmeal raisin cookies. Wifey soaks the raisins in Bacardi 151 overnight before baking. So good.

Ok this was shockingly a very easy call between the 2 for me. Knob SiB is my new personal favorite. Still in love with the hot fire of the Rare Breed, but this knob creek is fantastic. Maybe I should try the RB against the regular Knob SiB

Port Askaig isn’t a distillery, but is a brand from one of London’s best whisky shops, The Whisky Exchange. They are essentially an independent bottler and very similar to what you may see from Berry Bros & Rudd or other IB’s, selecting whiskies from distilleries, except Port Askaig only selects Islays for bottling. As far as I know, they don’t disclose the source distilleries.

What I’ve tasted has been excellent, and the price points are very good. Given the limited number of Islay distilleries, you really can’t go wrong, IMO.

New favorite rye. May have to buy a couple backups for the strategic whisk(e)y reserve—my local has it on sale for $90.

I've got a few different scenes from act 8; all very good. They are a little different each year; but $90 is a very good price. I get mine for $85 and that's the lowest I've ever seen it.

Last couple runs to a different city I stopped at larger liquor stores
Have a couple players that are more scotch heavy so picked up talisker storm and laphroaig 10
Picked up the eagle rare, Yellowstone 101 and 12yr 1792 for the bourbon guys.
picked up the 12yr whistle pig and new riff in case someone decides they like rye

I don’t know why everyone is so angry. It’s an 18 yr bourbon. It was funny because the lady made that comment like it justified the price. Part of me wants to stop in every week just to see it still sitting there.
