Something you might like. Just thinking I wonder if they thought they paid CAD for it and why the lowest price. :)

I don’t know why everyone is so angry. It’s an 18 yr bourbon. It was funny because the lady made that comment like it justified the price. Part of me wants to stop in every week just to see it still sitting there.
I've been to stores in New York City that have had allocated bourbons overpriced and on the shelf so long that they actually have a thick layer of dust on them. I speak to the owner, and I say " come on man this thing's been here for like 5 years" ... But they just don't budge on the price and they just sit there and sit there and sit there until some moron with way too much cash pays for it.

Because I paid $99.95 MSRP. It isn't worth more than a couple hundred dollars period. I will NEVER sell mine on the secondary market because I refuse to contribute to that nonsense.

Next time pull a Michael Douglas from Falling Down!

"One bottle of Eagle Rare 17 year, 750ml, HOW MUCH?!!!" -- He'll insist, $1999.99!!

After you bust up his shop he'll be like, "$1000". Say wrong answer with a smile, and beat the shit out of his establishment with more enthusiasm.

Then ask again: "EAGLE RARE 17 YEAR, HOW MUCH BITCH?!?!" (while holding a lit zippo lighter)............he'll shrug and say, "$99.95"! Pay the man and go on about your day whistling zip-a-dee-doo-da.

edit: I obv meant that to be funny. But seriously, there should be a reasonable limit on what % they can charge above MSRP.

I’m actually curious if he has been successful in the past. It happens to be near an uber wealthy lake (believe at one point it was the most expensive lake front property in the US) and first liquor store you see of the thruway. So I can only imagine someone gets invited down to a friends lake house and has to pick up a gift.

What is typical retail on Little Book? My local gouger wants $200, but I know that is too high, just not how much.

I was able to try these two today, highly recommend

When they are first released the retail is 100-120. Those are actually Chapter 2. Have a line on 3 but been unable to communicate again with them. Hopefully. Then onto the First Chapter.

Also the Statesman. My top 3

That said, I've never had Birthday bourbon or the 150th...

The Statesman is also pretty high. The good thing about the Old Forester line up is that its hard to go wrong.

Birthday bourbon or the 150th...

neither have I :( probably won't. I believe both are out of my drinking budget.

Well that expalins why it was on the shelf for $55... I probably should have grabbed another- oh well. I keep forgetting to bring my phone into th eliquor store to take a shot of the selection to get recommendations

You won't be disappointed by the 1910. My preferred is the 1897. I believe most would put the 1920 or the Statesmen ahead of the 1897. I love the balance in flavor that I get from it!
