Nice! The distributor of this in Indiana like to get on facebook and say "oooo we have 8 cases coming to Indiana, but we aren't saying where, aren't we special" and my simple response is usually two words that aren't very nice. Glad you got some, the reviews are good and it seems tasty.
That sucks they wont even give you a general idea of where they'll land -- i got lucky with this one; i helped a friend track down a couple of bottles he was after, and he sent this one as a thank you, along with some other samples

Not gonna lie, it is really good - i put the boone up against an Old Elk wheat whisky store pick and i think the OE holds its own pretty well side by side. OE makes a wheated bourbon as well, which is pretty good too if either of those are more available in your area

This is all that remains from last night’s cash game. I thoroughly enjoyed this and will definitely be grabbing another one. The two others that helped me get this bottle that low also thought it was a winner! A 13yr BIB for $50...yes please and thank you!View attachment 750604
I can get a case of these easy at around $50 each, plus tax. Just let me know if you have trouble and need a hookup. My best store got about four cases and only about half has sold in the last couple months, the rest just sit there.

I have seen multiple bottles of these in multiple stores recently, so it appears that people are sleeping on just how good this is. Hell, had I not turned the bottle sideways and seen the 13yr age statement, I’d probably still be sleeping on this bottle as well! Hopefully I’ll have no troubles grabbing a few more of these on Monday. I truly appreciate the offer!!

Happy to send a sample too btw

Anniversary drinks. I will eventually knock out the whole list. There’s a bunch here I’ve had and need to cross off.

It's a 13 year bourbon for $50. If the flavor suits your palate, it's a steal!

Agree 100%!! I also paid $50 for the McKenna. Both are steals at that price IMO. However, I doubt I’ll see any more McKenna for a while. I got lucky when I grabbed the 2 bottles I got of those. Both suit my palate quite well!

Does anybody have an opinion on which Whistle Pig has the best quality-to-price ratio? I’ve always wondered.

As a side note, my liquor store this week showed me their “allocated” supply of WP Roadstock. Still plenty on the shelf. Then I read about the whiskey. What a random gimmicky synthesis of goofiness. Some gets aged and finished in wine barrels in California, then it’s blended with some more that aged in a rickhouse on the back of a truck that drove all around. If somebody tries a sample, I am DYING to hear your opinion.

Whats the going rate on EH Taylor BP?

Looking at one for $175
We are lucky here in Oregon in a way with the liquor stores. Our liquor prices are decided by the state. There are not any liquor stores that can up charge you on a rare bottle. Blanton’s for example is $59.95 no matter what store you get it at... no mor, no less. So as long as it’s in stock and the owner will sell it to you that is what you pay.

I've now tried the High West Rendezvous Rye (older packaging, so older bottling I imagine), both neat and on ice. I like it, and would never turn it down unless something was also offered at the same time as an alternative. Very drinkable and tasty. There is a flavor note here that I can't quite put my finger on, but I've never detected it in anything else before. So that was noteworthy. Perhaps my palate is maturing. Or maybe the batch is skunky and I like skunky?

I will have to try this again, maybe next to another rye at the same time. I still can't perceive that whole "I'm getting some Flintstone vitamin. Got a note of syrup too. Maple, not that processed Mrs Butterworth crap. Definitely some Italian black olive in here, but not Spanish." That's beyond me. For now.

I think I’ve gotten unlucky with my bottles. I’ve tried three and all were pretty meh. I know this is a single barrel whiskey so there’s gonna be variance though
Three for three being meh has to be an anomaly. I’ve also had three bottles and not one of them was meh. One was pretty good that greatly improved over time and the other two, including the currently opened one, started fantastic and got even better. Don’t give up...they’re worth it at $50 which is what they cost here in NC...if you can find them.

That’s hopeful. Luckily two of the bottles I bought I found for $35. Now the price is pretty much $50 because the word is out
