Wow, lots of malted barley in Disco #5. And it's 25% 17 years old? The weighted average of that bottle is 11.17 years. Not bad, not bad at all.

Had a Rendezvous Rye tonight straight. Still good and getting better.

Do you know if the prisoner is any good? I haven’t cracked mine yet

How many open bottles is too many? Mrs. Baroo thinks that eight is too many. Nine if you count my infinity bottle. How many do y’all typically have open at any given time?View attachment 759634

Those are 8 fantastic bottles to have open!

I don’t want to count my open bottles, but maybe I’ll do it tonight. o_O

I think I have 30ish open bottles at the moment, I really enjoy the variety, lol. Working on bringing that down to 15-20ish. And BTW that's a fantastic lineup.

I have 40-50 open. I don't see any of them lasting very long, but a half drank bottle could last 10 years or more on the shelf (especially the higher proof stuff).

I rarely finish a bottle, there are 3-4 bottles that I have ever needed a second or more of. I've gone through several Lagavulin 16s, Green/Yellow Spots, and Buffalo Trace bottles, the later to guests. While I really like whiskey, I just don't drink that much of it at the end of the day.

I tend to want to try new things all the time and mostly would prefer something new to something I'd had before depending on the mood. The nice thing about it is that I have a lot of variety and don't have to worry about where I store 4 of the same bottle.

In all honesty I think I've got something like 40-50 open bottles but the vast majority are 75% full. I've got maybe a handful of bottles that are unopened.

Eagle Rare store pick from my favorite store. This should be pretty good. A 10yr store pick for $42. :)
What a deal! It's hard enough just finding regular Eagle Rares in store these days.

Finalising my list to stock at the bar in my (hopefully soon-to-be) poker room. Feel like it could do with perhaps one more Japanese whisky — any suggestions?

If you can get Old Forester 1920 there, I highly recommend it. That's a good line up you've got there as well.

The bourbon probably isn't as expensive as you'd think (apart from the more "bottom end" stuff like Ezra and Buffalo, which I imagine is dirt cheap in the USA) — especially Blanton's. The prices I pay for some of the standouts from that list:

Blanton's Gold: $130
Blanton's Original: $90
Eagle Rare: $45
Weller 12: $70 (have only managed to find one bottle thus far, and drank that pretty quickly)

How hard is it for you to score blantons gold? Do you also have access to straight from the barrel blantons?
