Sippin Dickel BiB 13yr. There's a lot going on here. I definitely do not get the "flintstones vitamins" at all, which is good. For all of its age, Dickel is quite a bargain if it agrees with your palate. Still looking for those Dickel 15 Yr bottles that are supposed to be out there for like $60, but none around me yet. And I made a meme.

Saw the Dickel 15 today, but I can’t remember the price.

@Saoliver
Been awhile for this. A great comparison for the Sam Houston 15, which I am not ready to open. Couldn't resist a taste!

So, bad news. The first sips were decent, but the more I drank of the 2021 Dickel BiB, the more it sucked ass. I loved the 2020 release and wish I had more than one backup bottle. I don't get the whiskyadvocate love for the 2021 bottle. It's quite terrible!

I’m quite the opposite on this one. While I didn’t think last years release was terrible, I think the 2021 release is significantly better.

I picked up the Basil Hayden Toast today. I don't even really like Basil Hayden, yet I now have the regular bourbon, the 10yr bourbon and the Toast, all unopened.

From my favorite store, regarding George T Stagg and unicorn bottles in general:

As many have recently read, Buffalo Trace is NOT bottling GT Stagg this year and reducing quantities of others in their Antique Collection. While they report it was the quality, inside sources indicate that there are severe labor and bottle shortages in the industry. Each distillery's main activity is now centered on their high volume skus. Hence, please be prepared for less availability of these rare offerings.

I ran by the liquor store today to grab a birthday gift for a friend, and several sections of the store (mostly whiskey) looked pretty picked over. I think aged spirits are going to be in a tight spot for a while.
