The Caribou is a store pick from local liquor store. Two SW Small Batch and a Noah’s Mill in the mail today. Neither are offered in MI and have been wanting to try.

Opinions on Noah’s Mill?
Noah’s Mill is a cinnamon bomb. Fantastic for fall or winter at like 115 proof or whatever it is.

This one is not bad...but a bit disappointing given the price. Not a lot going on there. I have a regular Joseph Magnus on deck after this is gone. Always trying to find the Cigar Blend...tough to find!

Like you, I can also get the Murray Hill and the Magnus. Never have. Like you, I'm also holding out for when the Cigar Blend shows up.

AE 2020 Cask Strength. A $200 bottle with an outstanding presentation. Finished in port casks, 120.4 proof. Delicious, but not worth the $$. The TSM port finish is $70 iirc and is maybe better

Please report back on that low proof Caribou. I have had 2 chances to buy it, and passed on both

I’ve got two bottles right now, both store picks. It’s good, but it’s 80 proof lol. I’ve been so into higher proof stuff recently that this is like apple juice.

It’s only $50 though, comes in a nice bottle and people refer to it as “Blanton’s of the north” lol. It’s more for my friends that are starting to get into whiskey/bourbon.

I do like these "neat" glasses I have. Your nose is in the glass while you sip, as opposed to your nose being outside the glass with a glencairn. I can see the merits of both.

The light whiskey...aroma is decent, with a paint-thinner / turpentine flutter. The first sip...OMG IT BURNS.

Lots of fruit notes in this. I'm also reminded of a turtle sundae. The finish is a little chalky, with a hint of Robitussin.

It's an experience, no doubt! Despite some of my disparaging descriptors, I kinda like it. I won't buy any, but I'll gladly drink yours.

I love your notes! Very accurate. But be warned, the more you drink the more you want…

Anyone ever had the toasted? I'm curious if it is even more vanilla.
Same here. From the interweb reviews it certainly sounds like it does. I saw that Woodford Reserve Double Oak has similar notes as the toasted
