I’ve still never had a purple top, passed up a 6y for $300 a couple years ago and regret it, what do they go for up your way? Would love to swap for a sample whenever you open it.

Almost always a buy. But some are more of an instant buy based on how rare and delicious they are.

If you’re not a huge minty fan you might wanna pass on this one or buy for someone else

The "6? in the 79-6B barrel number refers to the level, Four Roses has shorter warehouses than most distilleries and only has 6 levels of barrels stacked. Lvl 5-6 tend to have more intense vanilla oak and spice flavors due to higher evaporation/concentration due to the higher temp swings up high - they're always my favorites.
