Pro tip: When an NYC store sells you an allocated bourbon at only a $15 markup, when others in town are selling it at 4-5x and more, open the bottle right then and there and offer tastes to all the shopkeepers.

I've had a lot of success buying from retailers in NYC and having them ship to me while not getting hosed on price. I don't know if it is because there is so much competition there or what, but in DC we get some retailers with order of magnitude differences on price at times and I can find stuff cheaper in NYC.

DC is just insane. Partly because they know eventually someone will pay top dollar (and I’ll leave speculation out of it). But I was down there talking to one owner and the selection was amazing pricing was outrageous.

I don't know. I have a bottle that is supposed to arrive today from @joeyshin If it comes it, that will probably be my first pour. No idea what bottle it is, I'm sure it will be awesome! Otherwise I may kill off the Wellers 107. I think I only have a pour or two left in it anyways.

so like all wood, very little grain impact. I wonder what kind of impact you are getting from the rye in the mashbill at that point.

I don't know the legal definition of Rye but I know Bourbon is not legally distilled over 160 proof. I wonder what this came off the still at?
