I've been hunting very little lately. Once a week, max. Stocked up on one of these @ $44 today. Found a straggler of the other for $70. I don't buy EC BP backups, but I made an exception, because this will be easy to dispose of if I am so inclined.

Congrats! This is easily attainable in my area. However, I hear it is going to dry up soon....as will Buffalo Trace. ER is a great value. 10 Year bourbon at a fraction of that price....but if it was at least 100 proof.....just sayin'!! I can not wait to try my ER17, hope it is GREAT!

Just cracked it and took my first sip. I think it needs to open up a bit. The Crossroads was better, but again....this is going to open up and I think/hope it will be better. It is continuing to evolve even in the last few minutes since I posted. Man, the finish is LONG!!

Thanks again for scoring me the whole line up! I can't wait to try the 9 year and especially, the 17 year!!!!

edit: Better than Crossroads, for sure. This is amazing. It just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to try it in a few weeks, damn!! I can't get honey out of my mind here.....

I love all of blue note offerings. I still need to find a 10year but I like them all so far

This is very good @Pinkdan. I think it may be my first wheat whiskey (that I’ve opened). It’s full on butterscotch, then I get hit with licorice anise. A long, warm Kentucky (Spokane) hug with a bit of oak on the finish. You get all of that 137 proof after the initial sweetness. Thanks!

This bottle might be my favorite of last year. If anyone can find a good 10 year version of this please let me know

I drive through Spokane a few times per year. I will need to make a stop.

And I need to make a correction to my tasting notes. It was more anise (spicy and sweet) than licorice (bitter).

Got back from a business trip to the UK for some training. 6 days, 7000+ miles, 80k steps and like 20ish hours of total sleep lol. Really awesome week, but I haven't been this beat in a long time. Time for some medication and then bed - happy fryeday all!

Cheers!

I just picked up another bottle of Seagrass online today, while shopping for a different bottle. I have one open and two (I think) hidden in the "emergency" whiskey. So, it's good to have a backup on the way. Hahahahahaha

Dibs.

But yeah, I need to hit the local shop and grab a couple of backup bottles myself. I'm down to about 1/2 a bottle...

I now have all the emails and in a few minutes will be sending out the initial email.

I also went out and had one of the best local pizzas around with a pour of New Riff Single Barrel and a pour of Willet 4 year rye, and will be testing the blind flight @Billy Baroo sent me after i finish crafting the email, so will soon be drunk.

@Billy Baroo
what the fuck did you send me, i can't feel my arms. maybe i shouldn't have pregamed my pallet like I did.

#1 nose: cigar smoke, earthy, high proof, opens up to a orange peel citrus.
taste: mild on the front, cinnamon and char on the middle, citrus on the finish and dry. really long finish with a tingling on the tongue and cheeks, and amalted flavor. I am thing this is a high rye.

#2 nose: much lighter on the nose than #1, barrel char
taste: baking spice, oaky, oily.

#3 nose: this is the best nose so far. nutty, dark chocolate, high proof, dark currant
taste: very smooth, pumpernickel bread, not as complex as #1, oak, oily with full mouth feel, medium finish between 1 and 2. drinks very easy.

#4 nose: cherry, lesser proof than others, vanilla
taste: dry on the front, cinnamon and oak on the middle, slight spice on the finish, short finish

#5 nose: cherry and banana.
taste: this is a easy drinker, dry finish witj m uch less spice than others a wheater? coco, medium finish with very little burn.

I did also throw in a rare breed for comparison
nose: nutty, cinnamon, spice, earthytaste: spice and char on the front oily full mouth feel, long spic finish, dark chocolate,

rank

rare breed would come in first, but from the samples best to last

#3 I would buy this
#1
# 5
#4
#2 I would avoid this.

now I am going to drink homemade mead and more whiskey and really get plastered,
