Full House
Needed another rye in the rotation! This one is still my favorite Sagamore bottle to date. Got one more behind it in the vault. Definitely have to put some into the Ryefinity bottle!
I’m gonna bring down some bottles to share to the meet up this week. Some folks are interested in scotch so looking for some advice/affirmation. Sounds like highland is covered with Oban, and I know @detroitdad likes the Islay.
My “bag” only fits 4 bottles and don’t worry about the limited stuff. I’ve got one of each already bunkered.
Speyside sherry finished easy sipper.
Cask strength Lagavulin for that classic Islay.
Octomore to demonstrate what peat can really do.
Compass box orchard house which smells just like apples and is totally out of the box as a blended scotch and is my wild card.
I could see replacing the compass box with a different compass box, spice tree or menagerie, or something even more main stream scotch but I’m pretty happy with the other 3.
Thoughts?

I’ve had my fair share of bad hooch before, but I can honestly say that’s not a note I’ve ever experienced. Sucks when a bottle you’re excited about is absolute shitNotes of balls covered in vomit.
Since it is a local one, did you go and talk to them about it?Ack!! I was so looking forward to this limited release from my favorite brewery in town. I nosed it and couldn't believe it. Swirled it for a few minutes and took a sip. Notes of balls covered in vomit. Dumped it out immediately, bummer. They should stick to beer, absolute TRASH.

my question is how you have a familiarity with that particular tasting note...Ack!! I was so looking forward to this limited release from my favorite brewery in town. My favorite local craft brewery delved into distilling gin and vodka…neither of which I drink with any frequency. Friends of mine that do say they taste like they were filtered thru an overweight catchers jockstrap. If you’re a brewer, stick to beer SMHNo. It is their first ever release. They make beer, not whiskey.
What’s the order, gents?

I’m sure it must be SR. But dammit, now I need to go back and check.Does that say WLW for $13?? Or is that SR...

Weller 12. Finish the bottle
Buffalo Trace $12 vs Weller 12 $16!
Hahahahaha
I’d pay the $16 for the E.H. Taylor as well. It’s rarer than a hens tooth around my parts. But I’d also grab a Weller 12 in a heartbeat!
Ok, 12 it is. But that's misleading!
Ding ding ding!Weller 12 all day
I read it as well. I am out for the tasting unfortunately. I will say that whoever is shipping can ship mine and @Poker Zombie together, and possibly even @Pinkdan.
Depending on the pick-up day, I may just drive up for the Middle Tennessee contingent. I really gotta hunt through the emails.Brilliant idea. Anyone know where to get heavy duty shipping boxes? Those help when shipping multiple bottles. And always tape all the corners of the box too! The worst is seeing a box break open
